One: Premonition

"..Karen I think that he has another girl beside me," I said to Karen a friend of mine I made when I met my current boyfriend Lucas.

She and Lucas were friends. Karen is a lady boy and she loves hanging out with boys that is why she became friend with Lucas and I became her friend also because of Lucas.

I am talking to her now on the phone saying my doubts and concerns because Lucas hadn't contacted me for a long time.

His friends and family says that he is busy building his house in the other city and the signal there is somewhat lost but Karen said that Lucas always contacted her that I why I am have this foreboding feeling that Lucas has another girl.

"Why did you think so?" she asked.

"He don't reply to my messages anymore and his number is always out of cover reach and unanswered. Do you know or have you seen any girl getting close with Lucas lately?" I asked her.

Lucas and I was City apart so I always relied on Karen for some news about him. Sometimes I also contacted Lucas boy friends for his news but I always find it unreliable because friends tends to cover their friends ass.

"No, I don't see anyone and he is busy in making the house. Don't think too much, " she said.

"I know right, I also asked his mother and his mother said the same thing. I can't help it, I feel like there is something wrong," I said.

And I am definitely not lying about it. So the first thing that came into my mind is that he has another girl.

"Do not worry if he happen to call me again I will definitely tell him to call you," she said.

"Thank you, Karen. I owe you this one," I said gratefully to her.

I don't have any other choice I can only rely on her to connect with Lucas since he was not answering my calls.

"No problem. We are friends right?" she said.

"Okay, thank you."

The call was hung up. I still felt uneasy. It was like something was taken away from me but I don't know.

It's been a month since Lucas and I doesn't have any proper contact. I was puzzled by it first and I even went to his mother and asked where he is but then they said that he is on the other city.

I asked why he can't be reached but then his mother says that the signal there is very scarce so I didn't doubt it.

But then Karen and I always talked and she asked if have Lucas and I have already talked. That is why I always doubt him.

Karen's persuasion seems to be effective because Lucas called me not long after.

"Hello Lucas? How are you? Is your work there going well? It's been a long time, I miss you," I said the moment I answered the call.

There is some kind of rustling sound could be heard on the other side of the phone before Lucas made a sound.

"Hello Lilly? I am sorry the signal here is very off. I can't hear you! Hello? Hello Lilly?" He roared on the other side of the phone.

"Lucas? Hello? Can you hear me now?" I said trying connect to him.

There is only vague sounds can be heard on the other line and then the call was cut off. I immediately tried to connect to him. I dialed his number but he can't be reached anymore.

I feel sad that I didn't have time to talk to him because of the connection problem. I really missed him a lot. I went to the internet posting some sad and missing you memes to express my feelings.

Weeks later, I decided to surprise visit him at their house because Karen said that he is home which I really wonder that if he is already home why he hasn't call me or even text me to report his whereabouts?

I have been sending messages to him and it is very impossible for him not to read my meassge. So with my cousin and her boyfriend we took a ride to their place.

I even send a message to Karen that I will give him a surprise visit. It is also because I also want to give Karen a surprise.

It is already dark when we get there. Their house was on the road side so it's very easy to remember it. I have been there a lot of time spending how many nights and his family were good about it.

So after arriving. I noticed that they

were there with all his friends even Karen was there. They were laughing while they were playing billiards.

I didn't immediately call him out but tried to contact him. I dial his number but I still can't connect to his call.

I look at them from the distance observing their every move. There seems a change but I can't say where but I got a feeling that there are changes.

I can't wait for them to notice us and I get inside there yard. They stunned after seeing me, it took a long time before they recorded and then greeted me.

Lucas friends also know me because we met in the same group. And all his friend is also familiar with me. His other friend Jamie even become a boyfriend of my cousin.

"What brings you here, Lily!" Jamie said as he tapped me in the back.

"Oh I am giving Lucas an surprise visit. i haven't really seen him for a long time," I said. "Where is auntie and uncle? I haven't said hi to them," I asked.

"There were inside the house," Jamie said.

I give Karen a big smile. She must be very surprise when she saw me. I haven't been here for a long time and everytime she talked to me she is like 'When will you visit again? I miss you!' so that is also the reason why I didn't tell her.

I give him a hug and after that I give Lucas a kiss. Everyone is silent when I did that and I can't help but give them a questioning look.

"What? You're not used yet seeing us kissing?" I said playfully. "I am sorry for getting into your nerves singles!" I joked.

They all laughed when they heard me say that. Even so I feel like there still something wrong with their reaction just now.
