"Why are you moving like a snail! double up" Nkiru shouted as I hurried my pace to the training ground along with the other 50 trainees.Walking felt like walking on knives I was still sore from yesterdays training.

I had no idea why they bothered to keep alive especially when I have made it clear several times that I hated the sect.

"On your backs all of you I need 50 sit ups!" Salim the second in command said rubbing his hands to find some warmth. The weather was not particularly warm this morning .

I heard alot of grumblings and was glad I was not the only one who found the command tedious.50 situps? The only workout I had done was farming with Baba, thinking of the farmwork brought back many memories I was on the floor after my third situp unable to continue when I felt a lash on my stomach Nkiru was staring at me like a madwoman lash raised in her hand ready to strike again.

I did not need another lash as motivation to continue with the exercise as I continued my situps while she passed by me to go torment someone else .CHinedu the guy beside me who happened to be one of my roommates turned to me when Nkiru passed and was far from where we are he moved closer beside me

" chaii that woman is truly the devil she is as beautiful as she is wicked" he whispered squeezing his face and shaking his head, and even with the pain from the whiplash I could not hold back a small laugh.

At that moment Nkiru turned back as if hearing her name

" ele! she is the devil" he whispered quivering as he shifted back to his position

quickly trying to continue his press-ups if she noticed him she did not do anything or walk towards us, or perhaps Chinedu's badluck had finally worn off.

Chinedu's story was quite unfortunate synonymous with bad luck. After entering the University at Nigeria he was held back for a whole year by ASUU strike ( Academic  Staff Union of Universities Nigeria) and had to travel to USA to complete his studies, while there he did his best however his father died in his third year and had to come back to Nigeria.
