Jake Collin patted his chest heavily in front of Clara Glaire, wincing from the pain. Clara couldn’t help but cover her mouth, trying not to laugh. She bid Ethan Cole farewell and left to handle the matters he had asked her to manage.
Jake leaned over and whispered, “Big brother, who exactly are you? I have no idea what to expect!”
Ethan smiled but didn’t answer. When Jake grew awkward, Ethan changed the subject. “You said you’re in construction, with a dozen salesmen under you… so why are debt collectors showing up at people’s doors?”
Jake scratched his head and chuckled. “Big brother, you must be joking. I just manage a few guys doing small-scale construction work. Sometimes we follow someone to collect debts, just to earn a little extra.”
