Neville's scornful words were like a poison-tipped blade, striking the rawest wounds in Kirsten's heart with cruel precision. Bella trembled with rage, ready to grab a bottle and swing, but Kirsten's cold hand gently stopped her. Kirsten didn't glance at her furious friend, nor did she acknowledge the curious stares gathering around them. Instead, she slowly lifted her gaze. The eyes that had once overflowed with tenderness were now still and lifeless. Her gaze fixed directly on Neville. Her voice, though quiet, cut through the pounding music like a blade. "Neville." She spoke his name, the corners of her mouth lifting in a faint, frigid smile. "All these years tailing Marion, and all you've learned is how to bark when he's not around. Not even a shred of his class rubbed off on you.
