Adelinas POV
Adelina! I sat straight up in my bed as I heard the familiar voice calling my name. I’ve been having this same dream for the past few weeks, someone calling to me. My dream always start with me in the middle of a meadow full of bright yellow sunflowers. I feel the breeze surround me sending a shiver down my spine. I feel peace wash over me. Adelina! I can hear a mans voice calling out to me as if he was yelling for help. My heart starts to race as I hear my name being called again Adelina! I feel the urgency in his voice and feel desperate to find where the voice is coming from. Adelina! I turn to the forest and can see a figure running towards me.Every time the figure is about to merge from the forest I wake up. I just wish I would stay asleep a little longer to see who he was. Anyway it’s time to get up and attend to my duties at the castle.
As I get ready to start the day I walk by the mirror in the hallway. I stop to make sure I look at least half decent before leaving the house. I stare at my self and wonder why haven’t I found love yet. I just turned 22 and most fairies find their true loves at 18. I mean I’m not the best looking fairy, but I don’t think I’m that bad. I’m average height around 5”5 and athletic build. I have long chocolate brown hair and bright green eyes. I have some curves, maybe not like a super model but decent. I sigh at my forest green pants and light pink shirt, I really hate most of my clothes. Being the youngest of four daughters is curse when all you get are hand me downs. Positive vibe I whisper to myself as I walk out the door and head to the castle.
*****Narrators POV ***
Adelina walked out of her house which was a quaint little house with three bedroom and one bathroom which set beside a huge oak tree. Her family is not the richest of the village but Lina (Adelinas nick name) didn’t mind at all she was completely happy with her life, other than the longing she had for finding her true love that is. Lina smiled at everyone as she walked by paying especial attention to Mrs. Sara who has always been like a second mother to Lina. See Lina’s mother was killed when she was a baby. No one ever knew what exactly happened but she was found dead with claw marks on her body which made everyone especularé a werewolves was the culprit. See werewolves and fairies have been sworn enemies since any currently living generations can remember. It was said that a betrayal from a werewolf was the cause but it had been so long no one could really say the exact reason. Lina was just brought up being told werewolves are evil beings who are not to be trusted I mean one even killed her mother right?
Lina said her last hello to one of the villagers as she approached the castle. It doesn’t matter how many times Lina has been here she is always amazed at the utter beauty of the castle. The castle looks like one out of a fairy tale with huge ceilings and chandeliers dangling. The walls are covered in pictures of nature and past fairy royals. See fairies are not what you may have read about in fairy tales, they look like normal people so they can blend in amongst humans if they do wish. Each fairy has a special power. These powers extend from nature. The four elements to be exact. There are fire fairies, water fairies, earth fairies and air fairies. Linas case was an unusual one to say the least as she has no powers at all which lead to her being assigned as a maid at the castle instead of a guardian or teacher like most fairies are. Adelina! The queen fairy shouted snapping lina out of the daze she was in staring at the painting of a well, Lina didn’t really know what it was, it looked like a fairy but covered in light. Yes you majesty? The queen ordered her to go fix breakfast. Lina left in a hurry and as she made it to the kitchen she heard a familiar voice.
