Amara’s POV
The first time I tried to use my power, I almost destroyed everything around me.
The Silver Court training ground was quiet that morning, but it was not peaceful. It felt like the
kind of silence that waits for something dangerous to happen. Elder Selene stood across from
me with her arms folded, watching me like she was trying to read something inside my bones.
“Do not fight it,
” she said gently.
“Let it move through you.
”
I swallowed hard.
“I do not even know what I am supposed to be doing,
” I said.
Selene did not answer immediately.
Instead she raised her hand, and one of the stone pillars around the courtyard began to shake
slightly.
“Focus,
” she said.
“Call it without fear.
”
I stared at the pillar.
Nothing happened at first.
I felt stupid standing there like this, like someone pretending to be something I was not. My
hands trembled. My chest felt tight.
“I cannot,
” I whispered.
Selene’s voice softened.
“You already did,
” she said.
instinct.
”
“In the forest. When you shifted. That was not accident. That was
I closed my eyes.
For a moment, I remembered everything.
Kael’s voice.
The rejection.
The pain.
The rogues.
The moment something inside me broke open and rebuilt itself.
My breathing changed.
Something inside my chest stirred again.
Warm.
Alive.
Like it had been waiting for me to stop being afraid.
And then it came.
The air around me shifted so fast I barely understood it.
Wind exploded outward from my body.
The stone pillar cracked.
I opened my eyes in shock.
“I did not mean to—
”
Before I could finish, the ground trembled slightly.
Selene lifted her hand quickly and stopped the energy from spreading further.
Her expression was not angry.
It was impressed.
“You are dangerous,
” she said quietly.
My stomach dropped.
“That is not a good thing,
” I said immediately.
She shook her head.
“It is not a bad thing either,
” she replied.
“It is just the truth.
”
I stepped back, my breathing uneven.
“I do not want to hurt anyone,
” I said.
Selene walked closer.
“Then you must learn control faster than anyone else ever has,
” she said.
At the same time, far away in the Shadow Moon Pack, Kael stood inside the council hall with
Luca Storm beside him.
The hall was filled with tension. Pack members spoke in low voices, arguing about the strange
disturbances happening since the mating ceremony.
Kael did not speak at first.
His mind was somewhere else.
Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her.
Amara Blackwood.
Not the way she looked when she ran away.
But the moment she looked at him before everything broke.
Luca leaned closer.
“You have been like this for days,
” Luca said quietly.
“You are not focused.
”
Kael’s jaw tightened.
“I am fine,
” he replied.
But Luca did not believe him.
“You rejected her,
” Luca said carefully.
That is not normal.
”
“And yet the pack has not felt stable since that night.
Kael’s eyes sharpened.
“Are you saying it is her fault?”
Luca hesitated.
“I am saying something is connected to her,
” he said.
Kael did not answer immediately.
Because deep down, he already felt it too.
Something was wrong with the way everything had fallen apart.
And it all started when she left.
Meanwhile, Lyra Voss stood alone in her chamber, staring into a mirror that reflected more than
just her face.
Her smile was gone now.
Completely gone.
She reached for a small vial sitting on her table. Dark liquid moved inside it like it was alive.
A voice spoke from the shadows behind her.
“You are losing control of him.
”
Lyra did not turn around.
“I am not losing anything,
” she said softly.
The voice stepped closer.
“Kael is thinking about her,
” it said.
At that, Lyra’s fingers tightened around the vial.
“I know,
” she said.
The shadow behind her chuckled.
“Then you know what must happen next.
”
Lyra finally turned.
Her eyes were no longer soft.
They were sharp.
Cold.
“I did not go this far just to be replaced,
” she said.
Back at the Silver Court, Selene led me into a deeper part of the ruins.
“This is not just about power,
” she said.
“It is about memory.
”
I frowned.
“Memory?”
She stopped in front of a wall covered in glowing symbols.
“Yes,
” she said.
“Your bloodline carries the memory of a kingdom that was erased. And Ronan
Darkmoor is the reason it was erased.
”
My chest tightened.
“That name again,
” I whispered.
Selene placed her hand on the wall.
And suddenly, the symbols lit up brighter.
Images appeared in the air like shadows made real.
A kingdom.
Golden towers.
Wolves bowing.
A queen standing under the moon.
And then fire.
Destruction.
Screams.
My breath caught.
I stumbled back.
“What is this?” I whispered.
Selene looked at me.
“This is your past,
” she said.
“Or what is left of it.
”
My throat tightened painfully.
“I do not remember any of this,
” I said.
“You were not supposed to,
” she replied.
My hands shook.
“Why me?” I asked softly.
“Why did this all happen to me?”
Selene’s expression softened.
“Because you are the only one who can stop what is coming,
” she said.
A long silence fell between us.
Then she added something quieter.
“And the only one who can survive Ronan Darkmoor when he returns.
”
That name again.
Now it did not feel like a word anymore.
It felt like a warning.
At the Shadow Moon Pack, Kael finally made a decision.
“I need answers,
” he said suddenly.
Luca frowned.
“About what?”
Kael’s eyes darkened slightly.
“About her,
” he said.
Lyra’s name was not spoken.
But everyone in the room understood who he meant.
And somewhere deep in the forest, Amara Blackwood stood in the Silver Court ruins, staring at
the glowing symbols of a forgotten kingdom.
And for the first time since she was rejected, she realized something terrifying.
Her life was not broken.
It had been rewritten.
