My face went deathly pale, while Annalise and the other interns squealed with excitement.

One eyebrow lifted, and surprise flickered across his face.
Then his attention shifted to the visibly excited Annalise. A faint frown appeared between his brows.
His gaze dropped to my bare finger, then moved to the ring on hers.
In an instant, every trace of warmth vanished from his face.
"What's going on?" he demanded in a low voice, his eyes still fixed on me.
