Questions without answers

Meg couldn't even register what was happening in her mind because not in her whole life did she imagine to be sitting with her parents on the dining table taking tea with a stranger they didn't know. Hell she didn't know him too but here she was sitting with her parents, Lily and Loyrane and her parents were conversing with him calmly as if its normal to be sitting with a guy with a mask and strange clothes on the table.

She didn't even know how he ate all she knows is that he politely declined breakfast and the parents took no offense and instead were chatting like they were friends who had not seen each other for years. Its like everyone on the table was calm and she wondered how whiskers had taken a liking to him in a short time because she never liked strangers but right now she was sitting on Loyrane's lap and she was the ghost on the table and as if the mom had just noticed asked her if she was okay saying that she was so quiet which was unusual.

She replied that she was fine but she wasn't because she had many unanswered questions and she didn't even get a single answer from Loyrane last night because he dropped on the floor seconds after he'd clamped her mouth shut with his palm and that's when things got out of hand. He was breathing abnormally and she first thought that maybe because he wasn't human but when he started shivering she couldn't contain her scream and that's when her parents came rushing into her room in the middle of the night.

They didn't even question her how he was in her room but instead they carried him and put him on her bed, brought some herbs or tea she didn't know but after he became okay though he didn't wake up and after that no words were said the parents claiming that they were tired and that I should sleep we shall discuss it in the morning and here we are eating normally. I didn't even remember having the thought of taking off his mask when he was asleep but now that we are the whole family I'm sure he will remove it since mom is always curious about new people so I decided to fire my question.

'Why don't you take off the mask so we can get comfortable you know cause I'm sure everyone is curious' I say clearing my throat.

I smirked internally in victory when he made a move to grab it but it was short lived when my dad said that it was rude to make a visitor uncomfortable and my mouth gaped in shock and I was starting to get angry and I know I was acting immature but I couldn't help myself because I expected them to be angry at least but not calm about everything. I don't know what made me mad more maybe that or the glances Lily kept shooting Loyrane when she thought he wasn't looking and the way he also spoke to her almost all the time and forgetting that I even exist.

So when I couldn't contain it any longer, I made a move to get up but my mom told me to sit down and finish breakfast and that's when I lost it and shouted at them and Lily looked at me like I had gone mad. What's wrong with my family? I wanted to cry because it was too much for me but I held them in because I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of Loyrane.

"Mom how can you be calm when sitting with a person you barely know. You don't even know his name nor who he is" she screamed and her mom rose a brow at her.

"And do you?" The dad asked and she felt like she had won about one thing though because no one knew his name apart from her.

"Yeah its -" She mutters but is cut off when her mom tells her they don't want to know and that's when she stormed off to her room and began shedding tears and even whiskers who always comforted her didn't come this time and she felt lonely or maybe that's what she told her self.

After hours, Meg heard her door squeaking and she pretended to be asleep expecting it to be her parents who had come to talk to her or Lily like they always do but was disappointed when she heard a deep voice speak. She felt like hitting him but refrained herself by fisting her hands in the pillow.

Loyrane came and sat besides her on the bed knowing she was upset but her parents had told him not to worry and she'll come around but he said its okay he should check on her before Leaving and Meg was also waiting to hear what he had to say but no words were said and she sighed coming to the conclusion that he won't say anything so she turned and faced the other side of the bed and slept.

She woke up later in the evening during dinner but she didn't sit down to eat with the family like usual instead she grabbed an apple and a bottle of juice before going back to her room. She found a note on her pillow which she sure as hell knew wasn't there when she woke up but nevertheless picked it up and read it and she neatly folded the note and kept it in her treasure chest and patiently waited for the sun to set.

When it had finally set, she opened her window and threw her bag on the grass and she dropped down too with much ease landing on her feet. She grabbed her bag and set off for kloan hoping she isn't found by the protectors since the jungle was on lockdown and she was sure some protective measures were set up to capture the animals or people who were eating their animals as they believed.

Though after some long minutes, she made it to the barrier and was still wondering how she had not found the traps on her way but decided not to dwell on it alot. She waited and waited but tell barrier didn't open and she was starting to think he wasn't there and she grumbled cursing herself for even coming here.

When she made a move to turn back, she was pushed inside by none other than Loyrane who motioned for her to keep quiet and follow him and she just did making sure to remember to ask him what that was when they enter his bot. And no sooner had they entered than she began firing the questions.

" What was that about" she snapped

"Just nothing to worry about and thank you for coming I thought you wouldn't come" Loyrane replied calmly but Meg wasn't done.

"Nice change of topic but you have to answer all my questions and about me coming, you're note showed that its important otherwise I wouldn't have" she replied sassily making Loyrane laugh at her failed attempts of being upset.

"Yeah I wanted to warn you about mentioning my name in public. You only know it because I feel like I could trust you and do I hope you follow my warning" Loyrane says seriously waiting for her comeback.

"And if I do" Meg replied trying to fight a grin at the mention of Loyrane trusting her.

"OK let me tell you something little about where I come from. For us, names are like controls. Once you give out your name, it means that the person you've told can have full control over you and you are supposed to serve them as a slave or protect them. Basically it means you're their slave and the person can't exactly refuse and if the enemies get to know it then I'll be in deep trouble" he said finishing.

"has it ever happened to you before" Meg asked her curiosity at it's highest peak

"Nope it didn't but it happened to my elder sister and she ended up dead" Loyrane said quietly and Meg could notice the tension and felt guilty for asking such a question but she couldn't take it back since the damage was done so she tried changing the topic.

"So what should I call you in public or when my parents or Lily asks your name what should I tell them" she questions hoping he tells her but he looks at her for a long time before telling her that they have one name at their planet so she should choose for him any and Meg beamed because she has already began thinking of names and later all, she selected a name that Loyrane liked though Meg told him that she will continue calling him Loyrane only on his bot wnd then outside she would call him "Galvin"

"So how comes my parents didn't question your name and mask" Meg adked the question that has been on her mind for a while.

"I've met your parents before" Loyrane whispered not ready to talk about how but Meg didn't get that so she prodded further

"what? how? when?"

"When I was still young when I was visited with my parents on earth" Loyrane replied his mind already feeling guilty because that was the trip that changed his life and his family's so it was a touchy topic for him and he was thankful because Meg didn't ask anymore questions though he could see she wanted to ask more.

"I know you're wondering how I eat but I do and no I don't hunt the animals the protectors found dead" Loyrane said after a minute of silence and Meg turned her head to look at him motioning for him to go on.

"I know you think its me but my bot has high technology from our planet and it provides me with food. I just mention the food I want and its given to me raw and I cook it if its from this planet but the one from ours doesn't need cooking and yes, I know who is taking those animals and the organs. Its the inhumans and I  don't know if you have met them but they feed on blood and organs to survive if they are not on their planet or in space because they are hybrids so their stomach can't handle that food so at times they eat it with specific plants to reduce on the side effects" Loyrane says and Meg stares at him confused not sure if she should tell him that she met the inhumans but if she didn't, it felt like she was breaking his trust for her so she told him.

"I met the inhumans after I passed out that day if you remember anyway they told me to help them catch you and that you were a threat to the planet and that if I don't, our planet will get destroyed and theirs too" I say and Loyrane asks why I didn't tell him before but I keep quiet knowing the next thing I'll say will make him hate me.

"And I gave them the map of this whole jungle. That's why they know how and where to get the animals and plants though it wasn't intentional"
