LYRA'S POV
The atmosphere was quiet as I looked around the room, unable to believe it.
"No...." My eyes watered, "H-How..."
"I'll take care of it," Rowan announced, taking up the position as an alpha. "I will get him back safe. I promise."
My legs wavered and I was unable to stand on my own. I found a seat just by the side as my heart pounded.
"In the meantime, everyone should remain on lockdown. Keep the men on guard and send some men to comb the bushes close to the boundary." Rowan ordered and Ace nodded.
Ace was out the door the next minute, ready to disperse his duty as Beta. I couldn't believe how everything could turn out so badly.
Mother continued to cry while I held her, barely keeping myself together while Rowan made some calls.
