“I came as fast as I could.” A man dressed in scrubs and a doctor coat showed up about twenty minutes later. Hurriedly, he headed up the stairs, almost jumping. Maria and I followed close behind him, moving as fast as we could. “I was in the middle of a surgery. How is he, Maria?”
“We haven’t seen him.” I choked out. I had suddenly gotten a headache from all the suspense.
