CHAPTER 14

Draven POV Ever since I rescued Cara from Tony, I haven't been at ease. We'll be joining our resources and I am yet to inform my partners. My hands rubbed my forehead, smoothing the invisible lines. “Drav…someone's adamant to see you.” Jason picked his head into my office, his eyes searching my face. “I gave an order, Jas”. “I know that but she won't budge.” I let out a tired breath because I knew who it was. So prideful and stupid. She never learns. “Let her in.” Tessa walked into my home office like she belonged. She removed her leather jacket immediately she stepped in, her top hugged her body like a glove showing her hard n*****s. Each step she took rode her mini skirt further up exposing her thighs, I could see she wasn't wearing anything underneath. “You've been avoiding me. I am sorry for the last time but you know everything I do is because I love you.” She took slow steps towards me, swaying her hips until she stood directly in front of me. “Why are you here?” My eyes did a once over on her body. She is attractive no doubt but my body only wanted Cara. Her curves always leave me on edge. Hard, hot and consumed with desire. “I wanted to make amends. Won't you spare some time for me.” She cooed in a soft high pitched voice. Irritation filled my body. “I am married, Tessa. Whatever we had is in the past now. Cara is my wife and you know very well I don't sleep around.” She pushed further, her hands on my chest moved down towards my pants but I held her hand in place. “Don't be so cheap, Tessa. You’re better than this.” I shoved her hand away. Hurt was written on her face but she persisted. “It's a contract marriage, Draven. Isn't real so why are you pushing me away. I am offering myself here.” She was on the verge of tears. “Look Tessa, I understand you might have some sort of feelings for me but this can't happen. Now if you'll excuse me, I have work.” I stood up from my chair, clearly irritated. She scoffed, smirking slightly. “I love you Draven. You don't get to call my feelings sort of. Besides, your body says otherwise.” I followed her eyes and it fell on my strained c**k. I chuckled because she thought my reaction was for her. Ring ring “Yes” I responded to Jason. ”Cara just arrived. She is coming up. I tried stopping her but she said it's urgent.” Only the moon goddess knows how sick I was of this. Why does she keep setting me up with these women? “Okay then”. “Will you be able to handle it?” Jason asked, his voice lower than usual. “It's not like I have a choice now, do I?” I said putting the phone down, mentally preparing myself for the drama. Tessa lives for it. My back faced her as I kept my head down. Any sensible woman would be gone but sense had always been far from Tessa. She came behind me, hugged me from behind as she pressed her breasts to my back, I could feel her hardened n*****s. Her hands roamed my chest, squeezing my abs slightly. “Just this once. Please.” She whispered in my ears, softly. I turned, and she stepped back a little. “No Tessa. Leave.” My face hardened. “Why should I? I will stay here and watch that wolfless Alpha leave. You're mine Draven. If I can't have you, Cara isn't.” She stated through gritted teeth. Her eyes locked on mine and I could see the raw obsession in them. “Look, you need to leave.” I said and held her hand, dragging her towards the door. She struggled against me, twisting her body, trying to grind on my c**k. I closed my eyes, breathing in deeply. She took that opportunity and kissed me. I immediately let go of her. She came closer, her free hand cupped my erection, stroking it as she tried kissing me again. I groaned, trying to control myself. I refused to give her what she wanted. I quickly opened my eyes as I felt her tongue trying to get access into my mouth and my eyes spotted Cara. “s**t” I breathed, letting go of Tessa. Surprisingly, she wasn't struggling to kiss me or touch me. She had a small smile on her face as she looked at Cara. “Tessa was just leaving”. I breathed out. It took everything in me not to explain to her and tell her it isn't what she was thinking but I know what it looked like. Fuck, I screamed in my head. “Hmm” she nodded, stepping inside and taking a seat. I couldn't help but glare at Tessa. “I see you have a visitor. Let's do this some other time.” Tessa spoke, tiptoed and kissed my cheek before I could respond. My eyes were still glued on Cara who hadn't paid me a glance since she stepped in. Cara turned, giving us a look I couldn't describe and I glared daggers at Tessa as she left with a small smile on her lips. “Nothing happened. Tessa was just leaving really.” I had no idea why I wanted to explain myself. The urge to say something, anything to her was so strong I found myself speaking before my brain could think it through. “Whatever you do, who you sleep with is not my concern. It's business, remember.” She responded in her usual cold tone. I sighed, collapsed on my seat. “Should I get you anything? You came to my house for the first time and you're my wife. Wine, soda, name it.” I tried to be as welcoming as possible, especially after what just happened. Her silence and the awkward environment was getting to me. “I'm not here as your wife. I am your business partner. If that's established, can we move on?” I nodded, my eyes still studying her expression. She didn't give anything away but I knew she was affected by the scene earlier. “Henry said something about marriage.A werewolf marriage. Are you aware of it?” I straightened seeing that she changed the topic. “Yes, I am. The elders of my pack stated that requirement for our marriage to be recognized by both packs. It's an age-old tradition.” “I won't do it.” She uttered bluntly. Her gaze suddenly on me. “Why? I understand that our marriage is baseless but it's a marriage regardless. It's for our people.” Reasoning with her was the best option now. Everyone knows we are married. Our traditional way of marriage isn't such a big deal. “I get your point but our marriage is based on paper. If we go through with this, it becomes something more. I can't have someone who would not be loyal to me.” My eyebrows subconsciously raised on its own hearing her last words. I didn't know that's what she thought of me. I stood up from my chair, strode towards her. “I am many things Cara but loyalty is one thing I don't joke about. From the moment you signed those papers, I have been loyal to you. Tessa was–” She raised her hand up signalling my explanation unnecessary as she got up. “Save your explanation. How many times do I need to tell you I don't care.” Her eyes met mine but she quickly averted her gaze. “But I care. The wedding will happen. It's the only thing in our way of partnership.” I reasoned with her, but she turned her heels towards the door, her hands on the knob. “I want this partnership too, Draven, more than anything but you keep giving me reasons not to want it.” She walked out after saying that. There was a slight burn in my chest as I watched her walk out.
