Aela I always felt like I was waiting for something. Something I couldn't name. It was just always there. This day started like any other, though. I was in my big room, the one where I do Alpha work. Theron, my Beta, was there too. He had a stack of reports. They were thick, rustly, full of words about other packs and what they were doing. My pack is Thornhaven. We are strong. "Okay, Aela," Theron said. He always calls me Aela. "This is the quarterly report. Things are mostly quiet on the west." "Good," I said. My voice is deep. It helps people listen.
