~~~~~Jeriah~~~~~
“I’m not sure myself.” Jeriah replied as nonchalant as he could manage. “Miss Faith seems immune to the needs of the flesh, but she, so coldly, shoots down any advance tossed her way.”
“Well, cold though she may be, her power with words in her stories has made me excited for the opportunity to work with her.” The staff member continued, unaware of the thoughts warring in Jeriah’s head. “After all, with the way she writes, it’s not just women she appeals to.”
Several other members walked in at that moment, pausing their conversation. Jeriah could not help but review the notes she made on the script the screen writer had given them. As the staff members continued to prepare for the next scene, Jeriah made note of the parts she had issue with, and, as a result, sent an email to the screenwriter, to make the necessary corrections. It was then that he noticed the conversation between the other staff members.
“Even though she is a very cold person, here lately, she walks around the set like a zombie.” One said lifting a few props to move. “Miss Faith seems in and out of focus. When push comes to shove, she’s clear and concise, but any other time, she seems…dead to the world.”
“I know what you mean. Miss Faith is so focused on making everything right that she seems even more out of it than usual.” Another added before continuing. “It’s as though she’s lost in thought all the time.”
“Maybe the rumors are making her suffer?” Yet one more added in, her words questioning. “I mean, before this, she was a recluse. Odds are, it has been nothing but trouble to work around so many people. People that not only admire her work, but her body as well. If nothing else, she is really attractive. Even though she can be a total…um…jerk.”
Noting the truth in their words, Jeriah thought back to every issue between Trinity and the staff. Even though she had been cold, everything in her statements had been true. It was very clear that she was not looking for anything serious at all. Most everyone that had approached her were interested in just a one-night stand. Even if they were only viewing her as her physique. No one seemed to even consider her as her own person. They thought there was nothing to her but looks and writing and hate to find out that they are wrong.
After finishing up what he was doing, he began picking up his things to leave. On his way out, another concerned crew member approached him. Apparently, Trinity was on her way out as well, but she did not seem to notice her watchers. Her guard was dropped slightly, as she made her way to the door. Jeriah noticed the way she kept looking over her shoulder as though someone was watching her. From where he stood, she looked extremely cautious, even more so than when she was around other people. It was as though she was jumping at shadows.
“She hasn’t seemed herself for a while now. I have to wonder if the rumors are dragging her down slightly.” The female staff member stated offhandedly. “It’s weird to see her this worried though.”
“True. Anyways, great work today.” Jeriah said following in Trinity’s footsteps. “I’ll see you Monday.”
~~~~~Trinity~~~~~
How long does it take to edit a script? Trinity wondered as she made some more notes on the form that needed changing to suit the novel turned movie. Frowning in dismay, she did everything she could before falling asleep on the couch. Three hours later, she woke from a nightmare coated in a cold sweat. Sighing, she got up, got a cold glass of water and downed it, hoping to chase the memories of that nightmare away from her.
Sitting back down on the couch, Trinity continued to read until her eyes were tired once again. Looking up at the clock above her television, she noticed the time. Frowning again, she stood to take a shower. While making her way down the hallway, a lot of thoughts crossed her mind, especially concerning her marriages. When she made it to the bathroom, she noticed her reflection in the mirror. She still looked the same, but her skin was as white as a sheet, from the limited number of hours she slept.
The areas directly under her eyes was saggy and purple. Fortunately, no one on the set seemed to care much about her now that the rumors had painted her as mean or evil. Just a small amount of makeup was all it took to cover it up, so that is what she did. For now, it was the weekend, so she should enjoy the time off. Since her mind was racing from the triggers in her own work, she could barely sleep. Sighing as she took her clothes off to step into the shower, Trinity frowned at how pale she really was. Not only was rereading the script over and over physically draining, but it was doing hell to her emotions as well. That coupled with the way the crew was treating her was making it harder to act normal with everyone.
When had she ever let things affect her this much? She sighed again for the umpteenth time before she washed her body and hair. Trying to wrench the memories from her brain just was not working no matter what she tried. Stepping out of the water and into some clean clothes, she decided to clear her head by going on a walk. Hopefully, she could find somewhere relaxing to take those harrowing thoughts away from her for just a little bit. She picked up her phone and noticed a call from Thomas, so she called him back as she made ready to leave.
“Trinity, where are you?” He asked as soon as he answered the phone. “The press is having a field day right now with rumors about you.”
“I’m at home. I was about to go on a little walk in the garden.” Trinity replied absentmindedly. “I’m not feeling well enough to field questions from the press. Could you please take care of it?”
