Catherine Parker never returned to Rachley Island after Fair Day. The story swept through our small community in a matter of hours, and along the way the details became so twisted, exaggerated, and so far from the truth that even now I have problems sequencing the whole day.
Boatman told me that her brother punched a hole in the lounge room wall of their house several hours after the police had taken Catherine away.
