Patrick was part of the Team

The following night, everyone’s complete including Patrick. Sydney’s Family always includes him in everything. There’s chemistry obviously building between the two which the Family notices. Sebastian and Patrick carry some of the things they brought in the hospital and put it in the trunk of their Parent's car while Stephen gently pushes the wheelchair carrying Sydney.

“Going home baby Sis, are you happy?” Stephen said resting his chin on her head while waiting for Sebastian to clear the back seat of their Parents Car. 

“Okay, all set for Sydney darling,” Sebastian said while helping her to slide in the backseat.

“Head bro’ “Stephen reminding Sebastian.

“Okay, there you go. Are you comfortable Syd? Sebastian asked when he got a nod from her he kisses her forehead and gently closes the car door.

David and Myles smile observing their boys taking care of their only Sister, when everything was done they left for home tailed by three cars behind.

At Sydney’s place, dinner was already prepared; Myles had asked Flora their long time helper to stay with Sydney till she gets better. They cannot afford what happened before; in these two people will always be round the clock for Sydney’s safety. And a part-timer will come 10 am every Sunday and will leave Monday night to relieve Flora on her off, so everything is covered accordingly.

“Let’s have our dinner so Sydney can rest,” David said

After dinner, Sydney stood up and bid goodnight to everyone.

“I’m going to have a shower and rest soon, night everyone!” She said then went upstairs to her room and locks the door.

Myles quickly stood up to follow Sydney when David stopped her. “Honey, give her enough time before we barge in, didn’t she say she will have a shower? David said to her calmly

“Honey, how to relax when she just tried to take her life a week ago?” Myles asked her husband 

In the end, Myles had no choice but to wait, she’s bickering with her husband while Patrick excuse himself to go outside and check whether the lights were ON in Sydney’s bathroom, Sebastian and Stephen followed him.

“Lights on, she must be just soaking in the tub. How many minutes past since she went to her room?” Patrick ask Sebastian

“Maybe around 20 minutes” Sebastian answered 

“Rick, how did you manage to reach that balcony? You were probably stretched too much that time” Stephen said chuckling a little bit “But bro’ thank you… I think when it comes to the woman you love you are ready to do the impossible” He said insensitively then realizes what he just said then quickly hides behind Sebastian’s back which makes Patrick laugh.

“Did you mention 20 minutes Basti? Maybe we can toss Stephen now to check on Sydney?” Patrick said where Sebastian agrees and about to chase Stephen who runs quickly away from them.

Sebastian and Patrick went inside to find Stephen whining to his Dad upon seeing them 

“Dad, these two are bullying me,” Stephen said pointing at Sebastian and Patrick who were laughing at him 

David laughs and shakes his head “Honey, we suddenly have 3 boys here” he whispered to his wife who also laughs when they heard Patrick’s phone beeps.

Patrick reads the message enough for everyone to hear 

“Hi baby, I’m home. I promise you, I’ll do everything to follow you. I so love you so much Luke. I wish you didn’t save me in that f*****g car accident and just let me die with you”

Upon reading this David took the master key from Myles and quickly went up to unlock Sydney’s door. “Patrick, come along Son” David said 

When he opened the door, they saw Sydney lying in bed in a fetal position wearing Luke’s baggy shirt and hugging his photo…hiccuping who obviously just cried.

“Patrick, you okay if you try to cheer her up?” David said looking at Patrick who just nods and went inside the room. He went on the other side of the bed where Sydney was facing and sat on the floor enough to see her face in the dim light.

“Rudolph?” He called her. Sydney opens her eyes and looks at him for a while then laughs

Her laugh put them at ease, David leaves the door slightly ajar, and everyone stayed outside for a while to eavesdrop. They could her laugh and sniff at the same time, David then gestures everyone that it’s time to go downstairs.

The Family was discussing their approach when Patrick appears. “She’s sleeping now” he informed them. 

“That fast? Do you have a female version, I need someone like you in my life, one who could put me into sleep right away” Stephen said jokingly

“Just ask your girlfriend to punch you every night” Sebastian suggested making all laugh at Stephen

“Enough clowning around, let’s get down to business,” David said shaking his head

“Firstly Patrick, we really appreciate everything you did for Sydney. I hope you will continue visiting her even now that she’s back home, our door is always open for you” Myles said with a smile

“I’d really love that Mrs. Travis, and I was really hoping that you all would let me be part of this team.” He replied hoping they would involve him in taking care of Sydney.

The Family looks at each other “ We actually thought and discuss that, just a bit hesitant thinking that maybe it’s too much for you if we get you involve” David replied 

“Well, we do need an extra hand; to be honest chiefly she’s in a very fragile condition now. But how about your work? We don’t want to cause any trouble” Myles added

“That’s true though, I’ll be busy in a month or two, but I can still be on call in case of emergency Besides, I’m off every Saturday and Sunday if that helps. I really want to be part of her journey” He replied 

“Aren’t we taking much of your time away from your uh hmmm ahhh…you know?” Stephen said chuckling 

“Girlfriend…No, coz I’m not in a relationship” He replied and without hesitation shared about his past relationship.

“As long the two-timer Ex of yours won’t harm our Sister. Base on your story she seems crazy. Let me tell you, Sydney is a tough woman, not one to mess with. It just happens that she’s going through a difficult time in her life right now.” Sebastian said

“I agree with Bro’… you would see soon Patrick once she’s back to her usual self” Stephen backs up Sebastian

Just a minor revision was applied in the original schedule they had before, everyone exchange contact numbers whilst created a new group chats in w******p excluding Sydney. Patrick was assigned every Saturday which he finds perfect.

“Oh one more thing, every Sunday is our Family day. We usually have small gatherings at home before but when Luke passed away we figured out that it is best to do it here with Sydney. If you’re free, we would like you to join us.” Myles said to Patrick where everyone agrees.

“I’d love to Mrs. Travis…thank you!” he accepted the invitation quickly

“Would be nice if you could bring some single ladies too” Stephen said getting excited of the thought but was smacked on the head by Sebastian. “Ouch, what’s that for Basti?” He asked with puckered brows and pouted lips.

The couple just shakes their head in disbelief and laughs with their boys nonstop bullying with each other.

“You want to cheat on your girlfriend?” Sebastian asked laughing at his brother

“That’s actually for you... “Stephen said rubbing the part of his head being smacked.

“Thanks, bro’, but I’m fine,” Sebastian said "My attention goes to Sydney only for now" He added

At past 10 pm, Sydney’s Parents went home while Patrick stays for a bit with the 2 guys. They double-check the house for any sharp objects that might still be lying around. Although Flora did already earlier still they find it better to recheck for Sydney’s safety.
