The next morning, as soon as Patrick woke up the first thing he did was checked his phone for any messages. He smiled when he saw a message from the anonymous sender which is Sydney.

“Morning baby, how are you? Another day without you another day longing to be with you, God I miss you so much, Baby. I love you so very much Luke”

If she loves him this much how much more when Luke was still alive? Luke, you’re for sure one lucky man to have her heart. He thought to himself. He’s about to lock his phone when another message came.

“Baby, I forgot to tell you…I have a new friend. He saves me when I tried to take my own life. Funny, he calls me Rudolph too whenever I rubbed my nose too hard. Love u so much, baby!

The follow-up message makes Patrick smiles, feels like he’s being introduced to Luke. He sighs deeply and locks his phone to shower. As usual, he drives to work passing her street as his new route. Seeing Sebastian’s car still parked in the driveway means she’s not alone. His day in the office was chaotic, as the CEO requires the system at the earliest. Today is Stephen’s schedule to look after Sydney, so he called him before lunch to inform that he will be dropping by with some takeaways. 

“Flora cooked early for lunch; maybe you could buy dessert instead. I’ll pay you here” Stephen suggested

“Oh okay, then anything for dessert? What are Sydney’s favorites?” He asked

“Ice Cream, she loves Cookies and cream and butterscotch” He answered

“Okay, I’ll buy those” Patrick replied then hangs up 

Not so long Patrick reaches Sydney’s place and knocks on her front door. Flora opened the door and let him come inside.

“Hey Rick, she’s upstairs… let’s go get her,” Stephen said

Patrick nods and follows Stephen upstairs

“Hey Sis, someone’s here to visit you,” Stephen said while lightly knocking on her door again

“Yeah, come in” Sydney answered in a very light voice.

Stephen opened the door and saw Sydney relaxing on her 2-seater Moonrise recliner chair; he walks inside the room and sat beside her when he notices Patrick was just leaning on the door frame.

“Patrick, you can come in, why are you standing there?” He asked

“Hi Sydney, how are you feeling? You want to have lunch now?” Patrick asked

“Oh yeah, food’s prepared and Patrick bought you Ice cream,” Stephen said upon hearing food he runs out of her room leaving Patrick and Sydney who was laughing at him.

Sydney stood up to follow Stephen but lost her balance when she was trying to reach her other slipper under the recliner chair using her right foot. Patrick saw this and quickens his steps to catch her in his arms, at this moment Stephen came back to get his Sister.

“Uhmmm, am I disturbing you guys?” Stephen asked teasingly

Patrick just shook his head ignoring Stephen’s remarks, he squats down to reach the slipper underneath the recliner chair and let Sydney slips her left foot in while securing it on the floor.

“Thanks, Patrick,” Sydney said and smiles sweetly at him then throws a cold stare at Stephen who was smirking at them “And you, you forgot about me because of food” pointing at Stephen who instantly stopped laughing 

Hey don’t give me that look, Sis, that’s why I came back quickly to get you” Stephen said defensively “Anyways let’s go down I’m starving” taking his Sister’s hands and walks out of her room.

After the main course, Flora serves the ice cream on the table that Patrick bought and Sydney’s eyes glitters with excitement like a child upon seeing the cookies and cream in front of her. Seeing her reaction makes Patrick smile and looks at Stephen’s direction who gave him a thumbs-up sign. She’s so cute when she gets excited, like a baby he thought to himself while looking at her pretty face. After lunch, Patrick left and went back to his work.

“Hey Syd, come on, let’s hit the mall,” Stephen said forcing Sydney who was quietly sitting in her recliner chair again.

“Okay okay, bro. Let me shower and I’ll be with you” Sydney said leaving her no choice and went in the bathroom to shower.

Flora knows what to do, she didn’t wait for Stephen’s instruction and went inside Sydney’s room to clean whilst ensure she’s not harming herself while Stephen left to have a shower too.

Sydney opted for a rugged look, she wore her tight ripped jeans that emphasize her round hips, and long legs then styled with a basic white V-neck tee and amp it up with statement accessories of pair hoop earrings. She then partnered her overall attire with nude flat soft leather shoes with patent tips. Sydney didn’t wear any makeup instead just pats her face with moisturizer UV SPF 30. The siblings left Marine drive past 2 pm and reach the mall in Cambie St. within 30 minutes. Luck was on their side, as they quickly got a parking space near the Mall’s main entrance. Sydney bought perfumes for her and her Family then thought of buying one for Patrick too as a token of gratitude while Stephen bought some shirts and rubber shoes. When both got tired they went to eat at the bagel house and went back strolling after. They pass the leather house since both are an obsessive user of leathers they went inside. Stephen had his eye on the same style of wallet but in a different color, he looks around for his Sister to ask her opinion and found her in the purse section. 

“Hey, baby Sis! Yoo-hoo! I need your opinion please” Stephen said waving trying to get his Sister’s attention.

“Yes Stephen,” She asked raising her eyebrow at him

“These two are the same style but vary in color, now which is better the rich brown or black?” Stephen asked her

“Take both, I’ll pay the other one. Picked also for Dad and Sebastian…oh include Patrick too” She said then left to go back in the purse section to buy something for her Mom.

In the Counter, she paid for the items and asks the cashier to separate the item she bought for Patrick. On their way to their car, Stephen saw a Familiar figure walking not so far away from them.

“Patrick!” Stephen shouted while putting the things they bought at the back seat of his car. While Sydney was busy putting the wallet and Perfume she bought for Patrick in one package. 

Patrick turns his gaze on the direction of where the voice was coming and saw Stephen with Sydney.

“Hey Stephen, Hi Syd” Patrick greeted them

“Hey done for the day?” Stephen asked.  

“No, I’m on my way back in the Office actually. I just used my afternoon break to buy something” Patrick replied, “How about you guys, going home?” He asked

“Yes but on second thought I want to have my hair trim,” Stephen said, “Is that okay with you Syd or you think you’ll get bored waiting?” Stephen asks his Sister.

“I can stay in the car or wander around the mall while waiting” Sydney replied

Both guys replied in sync “No” and look at each other.

“Okay, I’ll just have my haircut some other time, I’ll take you home baby Sis,” Stephen said smiling and pinching her cheeks like a baby.

“Hey, Sydney can hang around in the office while you have your hair cut” Patrick offers hoping Sydney would be fine with his suggestion.

“If Sydney’s okay with that, then I’m good too” Stephen replied looking at his Sister for an answer who just nods and stands beside Patrick. For him Patrick is no longer a stranger, so he’s comfortable to leave her Sister with him, after all, he did save her and they’ll be forever grateful for that.

“Okay, guess she’s fine. See you later baby Sis, I love you! Please take care of her Patrick. Thanks” Stephen said and run back inside the mall.
