My Past leads me to you

Too gentleman

Three months past, the Family routine continues on. Sydney  healthier and in good state of emotions these past months. Her family noticed that she’s initiating small talks, smiling, and laughing a bit and they all could never be happier. Patrick keeps his promise to get involve and he never fails to visit in a day whilst stayed with her every Saturday with the assistance of Flora, which made them closer to each other more however never had the chance to join the 'Family day' due to work commitments. Patrick’s busy with the final touches of the system the CEO requires. Regardless of his hectic schedule, he manages to monitor if the anonymous sender aka Sydney had message on time. At a quarter to 12 pm his phone beeps, knowing that it’s her he quickly dropped what he was doing and reads her message.

“How are you, Baby? I miss you! Parents are here with me today however my new friend didn’t show up this lunch nor didn’t call me. Anyways, I understand he’s busy besides I’m not really his responsibility. Hope you’re fine up there. I love you so much, Luke. I will again visit you this week. Can’t wait to be with you soon” 

Sydney’s aware that she’s becoming attached to Patrick more and more each day, she can’t deny that to herself, but at the same time, she still has love for her late fiancée.

Patrick’s face lit up upon knowing that it seems she’s missing him somehow, he likes the fact she’s becoming his responsibility. What he didn’t like was the latter part of her message “ Not on my watch Syd… even if we don’t end up together, I promise you that I won’t let you harm yourself again” He said to himself

Meanwhile, Ella can’t take the fact that she lost Patrick. She became depressed that leads her to drink and smoke a lot not minding the life inside her.

“Ella, what the f**k are you doing? You know it’s not healthy for you to drink and smoke.” Bryan said who just came from the grocery.

“Why do you care? You spoil my plan… you betray me. If you really love me, you shouldn’t interfere with my plans. “She shouted at him

“Ella, I care because that is my child inside you. I interfere because that is the right thing to do. Don’t you have a heart at all? You cheated twice with the guy who was so in love with you but you have taken advantage of that.” Bryan calmly replied at her

When suddenly Ella felt a pang of pain and saw blood streams down her legs. She looked at Bryan who was also shocked.

“Bryan, my baby….Bryan” she then collapsed on the floor

The next thing she knew, she’s in the hospital and was told that she had lost her baby.  

“Where’s Bryan?” She asked the nurse in a weak voice

“Bryan? Oh, the guy who took you here? I think he left already” The nurse replied

3 days past and she was discharged, she went straight to see Bryan who was watching a movie.

“Is that how you treat someone you love? Leaving them alone in the hospital?” She shouted at him

“Woman, you killed my child. Who would have the interest to take care of you after what you did.” Bryan replied coldly not even looking at her.

Ella took the remote in his hands and undresses in front of him

“Bryan, you have to get me pregnant. We still have time” Ella said smiling like a crazy woman. Kissing him like there’s no tomorrow. She unfastens his trousers but Bryan pushes her which makes her fall on the floor.

“Ella, not even your Family cares about you anymore. I’m the only one who cares about you but you pushed me away. I can’t have this relationship with you anymore. I think you should get some help” He replied dialing a number when Ella took his phone and throws it on the floor then run to her car naked.

Bryan didn’t even run after her anymore instead just locks his door and sat back on the couch “I had enough Ella, just like Patrick you have taken advantage of my love for you, now you have nothing he thought quietly and close his eyes remembering his unborn child. My poor child! I’m sorry baby, Daddy wasn’t able to protect you from your own crazy Mother” he said then breaks down.

“If you don’t want to help me, I will do it myself. I will find a way to get you back Patrick” Ella shouted inside her car. She laughs then cry like a madwoman while driving and getting dress. 

Meanwhile Patrick parks at Sydney’s driveway; he got out of his car carrying a bag with fruits and her favorite ice cream he bought on his way. Sydney heard his car and went to peek in the window and smiles at the sight of him, he must have felt her gaze as he looks up and saw her. It was too late for Sydney to hide so she just waves at him. He knocks on her front door and Flora opened the door and took the bag in his hand and went back to the kitchen to finish preparing dinner.

“Patrick sweetie! How’s your day at work?” Myles said 

“It was okay; we finally finished the system so no more Sunday works for me and my team. Now, I can join you all on Sunday” He replied back

“That’s great Son,” David said upon hearing that he can now join their Family day.

A moment later, they’re all enjoying the meal Flora cooked. When the main course was done, ice cream was served, Patrick squints at Sydney whose eyes glitters with happiness again seeing her favorite ice cream.  Her expression is way too priceless! He thought. After dinner, Sydney went to her room to message Luke. Patrick took the opportunity while Sydney’s not around; he asked her parents for their blessing if he could take her out sometimes who just smiled and gave their go-signal. He made it a point that they understand his true intentions and feelings towards Sydney. The couples were not surprised by his interest in dating their daughter; they’re actually expecting that this time will come.

“Patrick, rest assure that it never crosses our mind that you’re taking advantage of her situation” Myles assured him

“We appreciate your respectfulness, not all guys would do that. Thank you” David said  

That night, Patrick spends longer than his usual visits. Her parents left them in the living room and went to bed early which is very unusual. Patrick understood their action and was even thankful as he can spend time with her alone.

“Sydney?” He calls her name

“Yes, Patrick?” She answered

“Uhmmm… I was wondering if you would like to go out with me sometime. ” He said looking at her 

Sydney looks at him and smiles “I’d like that Patrick” she responds then leans back on the couch and starts flipping through the channels. 

Patrick can’t help but feel thrilled inside and sat comfortably on the couch. The next thing they know, they’re sharing their past with one another. A moment later, Sydney fell asleep on his shoulder. He held her head and gently lifts her from the couch and carries her upstairs in her room then slowly walks out when…

“Patrick, thank you,” Sydney said in her sleep 

Patrick turns around and smiles at the Woman who was talking in her sleep. He then closes her door very gently. On his way down, he saw Flora “I’m leaving now. Sydney’s in her room already sleeping please don’t forget to check on her from time to time. Also, don’t forget to lock all the doors as soon as I’m out.” He instructed Flora who just nods at him 

Patrick was smiling all the way home and thought “It’s not going to be easy to win your heart, I can never ever replace Luke’s in your life, but I will be content when the time comes and you’ve learned to love me.”
