FORTY-ONE The low growling on the other side of the wall sent shivers racing down Justice’s spine, but she didn’t stop. Crouched over, the box clutched to her chest, she ran as silently as she could behind Isaac. Renfield was at her heels. Neither of the mercenaries made a noise Justice could hear, but freaks had far better hearing. The low growl became a chorus of snarls, and she could hear the freaks attempting to climb over the wall. ‘Quickly,’ Isaac whispered at the driver’s side door of the four-wheel-drive. He waved for Justice to climb into the passenger seat as Renfield ducked around her and made for the back. ‘Buckle up and hold on tight,’ Isaac said as he started the engine.
