THIRTY-ONE Brother Owen had regained consciousness by the time they reached Shelton, and he now sat in the passenger seat beside Isaac to act as guide, calling out directions in a low voice. He had shown a marked improvement since Justice had given him the painkillers and antibiotics from Cadel, and she was hopeful he would make a full recovery once they had a chance to clean and stitch his wound properly.
