CHAPTER 20: Fate (Part 1)
Axel began closing in on Ender. Cold, biting wind rushed through his robes and freezing rain sprayed on his face, making it feel numb. The ship soared above the small buildings and flew over the bridge connecting the Lower and Middle Clouds. The grey ship in front of him got closer and closer. Suddenly he was alarmed at the sight of people jumping on the ship from the side; until he realised that they were rebels. “If you’re trying to stop me, you might as well go back down,” Axel said to them. “We figured as much,” Belle said. “We’re coming with you.” “Not because we think it’s a good idea mate,” Jack told him, “But because you can’t do this alone.” “Know this, Axel,” Luna said sternly. “If we do this, and someone dies, their death is on you.” “I understand,” Axel said in agreement.
