Chapter 9

The day was ending before we knew it and I spent most of it looking for a shark or a dolphin to ride and I also chased some fish. It was a very productive day for me atleast. At about 7pm we head back to the boat and I take out some shrimp and noodles to make some shrimp butter noodles. It took about 30 minutes to finish and by that time everyone was done showering and changed clothes. “Chloe, this is pretty good.” says Nolan as he shoves more nodules into his mouth. “This is really good Chloe.” Joseph agrees, “So, after dinner dl y’all want to watch a movie?” 

“Sure but let's watch Knives Out!” says Emma to which we all agree. “Y’all go ahead and start the movie. I’m going to do the dishes, shower, and then change.” I say while I head to the kitchen to do the dishes. “Are you okay?” askes Joseph as he sneaks up behind me. “What the f**k? You scared me! I’m fine. Why do you ask?”

“You just seem worn out and I know it's not from the beach. Plus we got here half a day early.” he says with a look of don't give me any bullshit. “I just didn’t get enough sleep.” I say which is true. 

“Just know that you can talk to me about anything, if you need to that is.” he says with a dead serious look that I have never seen before on him. “I know and I will. Can I use the shower in your room? The main bathroom doesn’t have a shower.”

“Sure you can use it anytime you need.” he responds with a smile. 

“Alright, I’ll be done in about 15 minutes.” I smile back and head to his room to take a shower.

When I finish my tasks I head to the living room and see that the movie is already playing. I take my seat next to Joseph and whisper in his ear, “Try not to fall asleep on my shoulder again.” then pull away and smirk at him while his cheeks turn a shade of pink. Who knew that I could make Joseph blush but of course he has a smirk of his own as he puts his arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side which leads to me blushing. Oh how the tables have turned but I’m really not complaining because he is really warm, so I just relax into his side. At first Joseph tenses up like he didn’t expect me to stay but he relaxes and we finish the movie. 

I wake up in the helm but the nightmare came back and I'm up too damn early.  When I calm down, I realize that I didn’t get here myself, so now I get to find out. I change, then make my way to the kitchen for an early lunch. I see the girls eating in the dining room and whispering about something. “Morning y’all.” I say as I walk past them to eat. “Chloe, you have to spill. What’s going on between you and Joseph?” asks Nha with a smirk. “Nothing. Why would you think that?” I responded in a confused way because I was. “Well you fell asleep on Joseph and he carried you up to your room after the 2nd movie we watched.” said Emma, “Do you like him? We have a bet going to see if y’all end up together. I bet against and Nha bet for.” They both just smile at me like I’m actually going to tell them I like him. “I… don’t know what to tell you. I do like Joseph but I just know that we can’t work together or in better terms he could find someone way better than me.” I sigh out.

“Bullshit. Y’all are perfect for each other but you just don’t see it. Have no fear we will help you out.” Nha gushed out. “I regret saying anything.” I say, “I don’t need any help. I’m fine with just looking from afar.” We start to here the boys come up and the conversation between us girls ends. “What are you lovely ladies up to?” asks Jones. “We have a plan for dinner on the beach tonight. Are y’all in?” asks Emma. “Hell yes!” Nolan shouts, “Let’s have some fun at the beach first and then prepare for it.” as he says this he runs out of the dining room to who knows where.
