Chapter 6

758 Words
The dock was in front of us with huge ships and yachts surrounding us. I lead the group to my boat. “Chloe, what the actual f**k is this? This is not a boat, this is a damn yacht.” Jonas says as he speaks with his hands pointing at my “yacht”.  “I call it a boat but it doesn't really matter what we call it. Anyways this is The Escape.” I turn toward The Escape then turn back to my friends, “Alright, there are 4 rooms and 8 of us. So Keaton and Aaron in room 1, Nha and Nolan in room 2, Jonas and Emma in room 3, and finally Joseph in room 4. Is anyone unhappy with your roommates for the month?” I ask to which everyone replied with a chorus of “Yes”  “Wait, Chloe where are you staying?” says Joseph. “You could always stay with Joseph. Hint hint!” Nha playfully suggests, “He might be lonely!” “Nha, please stop. I’m staying up at the top where I’m also steering the boat.” I say to everyone, “So, the rooms have a shared bathroom. 1 and 4 are shared. 2 and 3 are shared. Your rooms are on the 4th floor. The kitchen, dining room with a table for 12, and a hot tub, on the bow or the front, for 5-6 people are on the 3rd floor. The living room is on the 2nd floor with a deck at the stern or the back of the boat. The 1st floor is where I’m staying and where the ship is steered. So I think that is it for now. Get your stuff, find your rooms, and meet me on the 2nd floor in 10 minutes.” With that everyone goes to get their stuff and disappears into the boat. I grab my 3 bags and head up to my room. The outside of the boat is all white with one way windows throughout and the inside has cyan walls with rustic colored wood floors. The bedroom layout is simple with a queen size bed in the center of the room, nightstands on each side of the bed, a small T.V. hanging across from the bed with a stand underneath it, a walk-in closet to the left of the entrance, and the bathroom to the right of the entrance. The kitchen has all of the necessities that we would need and is stocked for a little over a month of food. The furniture for everything inside is all a sleek black color and the outside furniture is all bright white color. I make my way up to the 2nd floor and Aaron is already up there waiting for the rest of us. “Sup Aaroooooon.” I yell out, scaring the s**t out of him making him jump off of the couch. “Why do you do this to me? I was just sitting here waiting for everyone. I think you are just mean to me.” Aaron pouted at me. “You will live so stop being dramatic. Everyone should be here in about a minute.” With that said everyone started to appear in the living room. “Chloe this yacht is so f*****g awsome. It has everything!” says Emma. “Thanks. So now for some things we need to talk about. We need to figure out who is doing lunch and dinner but breakfast is a fend for yourself type of deal. Also y’all need to find something to do for the rest of the day and most of the day tomorrow as we will be at sea. Any questions?” I finished.  “Are you just gonna steer all day or can you have some fun?” asked Nolan. “I will stop the boat to sleep but to get to the beach quickly, y’all won’t really see me for the two days.”  “Let's make a plan for lunch and dinner. I can make lunch every other day.” says Keaton. After some debating on who is doing what and figuring out what everyone doesn’t like we now have a schedule going. Aaron, Joseph, Emma, and Nha are switching off for lunch and Jonas, Nolan, Keaton, and I are switching off doing dinner. Day 3 is when I get to cook and we will hopefully be docked on the beach island. “Alright, I’m going to get the boat started up and moving. Y’all can do whatever.” With that I start to make my way to the helm or where I steer. I take the key, turn it, and here the purr of The Escape coming to life. After checking that everything is good, I start our journey on the sea.
