CHAPTER SEVENRobert Bjorner didn’t really look so bad, for a corpse. The scarlet coloring had receded from his face as the body began its postmortem processes. Rigor had set in and blood drained toward the center of gravity. He was laid out on a table, and Herbert Bjorner viewed the body on a video monitor. Coroners had gone to that system in recent years. It was less stressful for families; there were fewer scenes of hysterical grief or misdirected rage.
