The board members heard finished their meeting and Rex was to and inform Tina about the the outcome. He came out and saw how she was panicking and sweating. He wanted to pull her legs a bit, even though he knew she had gotten the job already. So he decided to bring up emotions that will make her feel she didn't get it

“Miss Tina, I am sorry to inform you but—” Rex then kept mute for a while, with his face looking so sad, so as to heighten up the tension.

“It's fine Sir, I'll take my leave” Tina said with a tone of disappointment and almost in tears.

“Hold on dear, I was–” Rex wanted to speak up but was interrupted.

“Thanks for your effort sir, I really appreciate it,” she added.

“You actually got the job, am just teasing you dear” Rex opened up as the look on her face was so discomforting to keep up with the lies.

Tina paused for a while, the shock in her face was too obvious to be hidden. She was somewhat confused at the sudden change of words.

“Are you for real, or are you pulling my legs?” She asked wondering what was actually going on.

“I am serious dear” he confirms with a smile, “Welcome on board, you are now my Secretary” he added.

She leaped for joy and hugged him, and then stood firm with composure. “Sorry sir, thanks for your effort” she appreciated.

“I did nothing okay, Congratulations anyway” he said, guiding her to his office. “You are to resume tomorrow, from 8am till 2pm, and the receptionist will show you to your office tomorrow morning"

“Okay sir” Tina replied with joy over her face.

“You are to drop your account details alongside your documents. Every other information will be sent to you” Rex said, then his telephone rang.

The call lasted for two minutes or so, meanwhile, Tina was so happy and smiled so much as joy filled her heart.

“Alright, so any questions?” He asked as he swung his chair.

“No sir,” she said.

“Alright, do have a nice day, I'll be expecting you tomorrow” he said.

“Thanks Sir, I really appreciate sir” she said and then turned to leave

“Hold on, I..” Rex said, wanting to ask her something, but somehow became speechless. “Don't worry, see you soon”.

“Okay sir, thanks sir” she said, shutting the door behind her. She jumped and screamed a bit, trying to hold herself.

She was so happy that she almost fell down, as she forgot she was in heels. She walked past the receptionist and didn't know when she waved at her.

Rex on the other hand, was really happy to see how but felt stupid for not opening up to ask for her contact. He comforted himself saying he would still get closer to her as time went on.

Tina wanted to head home but she remembered her Stepmom would be at home. She didn't want her to change her mood with insults so she wanted to call James, to know if he was at home, but decided to pay him a surprise visit.

She boarded a bus headed for James’ street. She sat next to girl who was wearing a headset and was engrossed in the music. She highlighted and took some walk before getting to his apartment.

When she knocked on the door, there was no response,then he saw the shoes of a female, which made her suspicious, so she walked in, closed the door and was moving silently towards his room,as there was no one in the sitting room.

She became a bit annoyed and inquisitive. She walked towards his room quietly but stood like she was in shock of what she saw. James’ eyes were interlocked to that of another girl and their lips were so close.

There was cold silence as they were at the verge of kissing but he turned his face, and then saw her. He left the girl and went after her, as she walked fast into the sitting room.

“Hold on babe, it isn't what you actually think” he said, hoping she could reduce her pace.

She didn't reply. She sat in his living room, with mixed feelings. He came into the sitting room, thinking she left, but was happy she didn't. He then came close to her, wondering what would be her next action after the scene that just occurred.

“Babe, honestly it's not-” He tried explaining.

“It isn't what I think? Are you saying am blind or I didn't see what just happened?” She asked rhetorically, looking at him with surprise in her face.

“Calm down dear, I can explain -” He wanted to explain but the other girl came in, announcing her leave, and no one responded to her.

“We would talk later James” was all she said and then left. James just bowed head, with his elbow on his thigh and hand on his forehead, speechless.

“After everything we've been through, is this what I get in return?” She asked again after some moments of silence.

“Babe, I am not lying, she was actually sick-” he then faced her to explain what happened. “-so she came and was lamenting of how I left and abandoned her when she was critically, I didn't ask her to come though, she came on her own”

“Ok” was her reply.

“I wasn't expecting her always, she took me by surprise dear. I am sorry if you feel hurt” he apologised.

“I came over to share some good news with you only to see this babe” she stood up, looking him in the face “ I'm disappointed”.

She stood up and hurriedly left the room. As she left his house, he tried to keep her paced but he couldn't. All he kept saying was, “Am so sorry dear”.

After she walked some distance where he couldn't she her anymore, he went back into his sitting room and fell like a log of wood on his couch.

He started blaming himself for a while for letting the other girl inside. After a while, he defended himself that nothing happened between him and the girl, and also he was human and such temptations do come.

As he kept deliberating and contemplating on the issue, he fell asleep unknown to him. The sleep didn't last long though as a phone call woke him up.

“Hello” he mumbled after yawning. He still felt sleepy.

“Is this Mr James?” The person on the other end asked.

“Yes, any problem?” He asked. The next two seconds, he jumped up as though his adrenaline was pumped back. “Which accident?? Where and how?”. After the explanation, he picked just a top, and quickly rushed out of his house.
