Everly bustled about the kitchen on Friday afternoon. She was baking a cake for celebrating Michael's birthday later today. He had left for work while she was still sleeping; trying to recover from the long week of studying in every spare minute she could find.
Pushing the batter into the oven, she kept thinking about how much she missed him. More especially the bits and pieces of time they'd always managed to spend before this hectic week. Which made him hope that she could make up for it,tonight. Or better yet, this whole weekend.
"Please don't tell me you're just sitting in the dark ag-" Everly heard Michael muttering softly before turning on the living room lights.
Which immediately revealed a joyous Everly at the far back of it, near the exquisitely set dinner table.
"Surprise!"
