He never caught her that night. But he did find her totally naked in the bathroom checking the temperature of the water. "You started without me?" he whined. "I barely did a thing. Well, except maybe getting rid of certain barriers." She said, gesturing at her pile of clothes that now sat on the floor. "You know I like being the one who undresses you, or at least watch." He said in a wicked tone. She wrapped her arms around his neck as their lips collided. Which later led to her pulling his t-shirt over his head. "You still have complaints?" she asked, in between the removal of his clothes. "None whatsoever." He gave her a grin before picking her up and entering the shower area with her. And that was the beginning of another naughty evening. Which eventually led to falling asleep in each other's arms, when they finally gave in to the exhaustion. When daylight creeped through the slithers of the cracks in the curtain, she untangled her body from his. But while she awoke, she heard him rouse too. She suspected that it was due to her movement, because he wasn't an early riser. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked in half slumber. "Good morning to you too," she lay back down next to him. "Already?" his breath caressed the back of her neck as pulled her body closer. Goosebumps appeared on her skin as her body responded to his touch. She always loved to wake up to the taste of his lips, enraptured in the warmth of his embrace. She loved beginning her day with the power of his manhood buried deep inside her, while the scent of their lovemaking perfumed the air. "Already," she responded when he traced his famished hands over her bare bottom. The tip of his fingers slowly burned her skin with desire as they found a way under her camisole, until he settled on what he was looking for. He gently played with her n*****s making them blossom under his touch; erect, hard and begging for more. He continued to let his fingertips trail down her body, as if to remind her of all the places he belonged in. When their bodies finally joined without end, and their ears filled with the noise of their love song- she couldn't remember what she had been leaving bed for or even cared. He seemed to be someone who didn't just want a taste of her this morning. But wanted to feel her soul in places she had never experienced, and even places she had never felt before. He was consuming her, possessing her and seeing her for everything she was scared to be. The sun was beginning to rise by the time they had soaked their bedsheets with messy morning sweat. She was left feeling like her soul had just been stripped more naked than the body pressed against his. She shuddered and tingled in every curve that his hands had memorized. "And that," he sighed. "Is what 'good mornings' should be comprised of." "I couldn't agree more," she licked her bottom lip. "We do have to get out of bed though if we don't want to run late." "Shower with me?" he tried his luck. "No. But you can go immediately after." She kissed him fully on the lips. "Is that a bribe?" "Maybe." She jumped out of bed and disappeared into the bathroom. She let the scalding water knead the knots of tension in her shoulders. All the while, wondering if her day could get any better than that. When she emerged from the bathroom, she discovered that he had fallen asleep again. "Wake up, sleepy head." She gently shook him. "If you'd allowed me to join you, I'd be done too by now." He yawned. She laughed at the ridiculousness of the statement. "I think you know very well that we'd still be in there." "True." He affirmed with a mischievous smile. "I can't help it. I haven't mastered how to keep my hands to myself when I'm around you." "That we can agree on." She said chuckling. When he left to shower, she got dressed. Picking a maroon and cream colored waist hugging dress. She looked like a sundae. Good enough to eat,she thought. "You look great," he said drying his hair with a towel. "Thank you, kind sir." She teased. "Oh, don't you call me that." "Or what?" she challenged. "Or I just might get you out of that sexy dress and keep you home to myself. All day if I have to." He told her with a smirk. "You wish," she taunted further. "So you think I'm bluffing?" he whispered in that seductive tone of his while he unzipped her dress. "I could have you, right here on this dresser. And you can get to watch yourself come undone, right in front of this mirror." She flushed when she heard this. Then immediately pulled away from him with a shaky whisper of "point taken." Between their playful bantering and getting ready for the day, they finally managed to step out of the house. "You still remember our coffee date, right?" she asked. "How can I?" he smiled and led her to the car. It was short drive to the coffee shop. In fact,it was a few blocks away from his house. The only obstacle with getting there this early in the morning was the heavy traffic. It was rush hour after all. But they got there without incident. She ordered her usual caramel macchiato, while he got his black coffee. They added chocolate glazed donuts to their order and headed to their 'old spot' by the window. "You're glowing," he said as they sat down. "I wonder if it's because of me or this place." "I think it's because I missed the place," she chuckled. "So definitely not me?" he pushed. "Nope, sorry." She broke into a laugh when he saw the fake torn expression he was making, even with a hand to his heart. "My heart breaks." "Why?" Now she was amused. "I don't know. Maybe I'm jealous that something else is making you happy?" "There's nothing to be jealous of," she assured him. "You mean that?" his face was now serious. "I mean it," she affirmed. He grabbed her hand from across the small table space and kissed it. Making her blush as she thought about how he was always a beast when they were alone, but always a gentleman in public. Almost as if she got to be his princess when they're around people, but behind closed doors she was his dirty little girl. They had their breakfast in silence. Until his phone rang, for the first time that morning. Retrieving it from his blazer, he took one glance at the screen and rejected it. She had almost forgotten about the same incident happening last night. But as soon as it happened, she became uneasy. "Are you avoiding someone?" She asked when he placed the cellphone on the table. "No. I just don't want anything interrupting our time together." She was starting to think of that as a cover. One that he must've known nolonger worked because when he tried, reaching for her hand again- she immediately pulled it back. "These are really good," he said before shoving the last piece of his donut into his mouth. "I'm going to get another one to go, would you like one?" he offered. Despite the sweet taste of the donut in her mouth, her mood had soured. If he could tell, he wasn't showing it. "No, I'm good." She said dismissively before taking another sip of her macchiato. Before she could protest, she felt him placing a quick kiss on her forehead before heading for the counter. "Okay, then." As soon as he joined a queue of about five people, his phone vibrated on the table. She hesitated because she didn't want to invade his privacy. But as soon as the call had ended, the caller had immediately dialled making the phone vibrate again. Screw it, she thought. She felt the need to get to the bottom of these suspicious unanswered calls once and for all. If he wasn't willing to give her clear straight answers about what was going on, then she had to find out for herself right? "It's about time." A woman's voice on the other end said, clearly annoyed by being ignored all this time. "Look Mike, avoiding me is not going to make our engagement go away. We need to meet and fix things," she continued. Everly decided that she had heard everything she needed. Dumbstruck; she hung up and pushed the phone across the table, right where Michael had left it. When he returned with his donut takeaway, and not a single care in the world- the unexpected hit him in the face. "You're engaged?" Everly hissed as soon as he sat down. "Where-" he stammered. "How-, you're checking my phone behind my back now?" he frowned, obviously caught off guard. "That's not the point. I thought it was work and I was just going to take a message for you. But guess what?" Her eyes narrowed as her anger began to take over. "It was a damn woman! Wanting to talk about an engagement and fixing things with you." "Baby, I can explain." He tried a tone as soothing as he could possibly manage. "There's nothing to explain." She fumed as she took her bag and slung it over her shoulder preparing to leave. "It's really not what you think," he continued. "Yeah and whatever it is, I don't want to hear it." She now stood. "God, I've been such a fool," she muttered almost to herself before turning to leave. "Everly, wait!" he shouted after her, earning a few stares from the people in the coffee shop. Not that he cared. "Just hear me out." He half ran after her, grabbing her arm. Slipping out of his grip, she opened the swinging door and exited. "Eve, please." He attempted to get through to her, but it all seemed to be futile as she kept walking without looking back. When she had put a good distance between them, she heard him sigh to himself. "Oh God, what have I done?"
