When Michael returned from work the next day, he offered to drive Everly to her apartment. "You're awfully quiet, is everything okay?" She asked when he peeled out of the driveway. "Yeah, I'm good." Everly gave him a sharp look, "we're lying to each other now?" She knew that the question was rich coming from her, especially when putting her recent lie into consideration. But she still nudged him, because she didn't want to spend her whole night wondering what was bothering or even grinding his gears.
