"You hesitated,back there." Lucas said firmly,falling into step with her . "I saw it in your eyes, you felt what I felt Everly. You wanted to kiss me too."
Everly didn't have a smart remark for that, because Lucas was right. She had ducked just in time, but her eye contact had obviously sold her out.
"It's not true," she said softly, coming to a standstill.
The path leading to the main road was quite lengthy. And from where they currently stood, they were alone. No people passing by, not even a single bird singing in the background. Just the distant sound of cars coming from the main road.
