Chapter Five The sound of jail cells clanging shut always sent a strange shiver through Robin’s bones. Not a sound that anyone should ever get used to. For a cell, this one wasn’t bad, and at least Betsy had it to herself. Being a murder suspect gave her some privilege. Betsy sat on her bunk giving Robin a slightly hopeful look on seeing a friendly face. She looked very lost in this tiny jail cell, with nothing but a bed and wash basin, and a blue prison dress to wear. “How are things for you?” Robin asked. “What can I expect?” Betsy replied, sadly. If she wasn’t innocent, she sure gave the impression that she was. “Leslie and I have done some preliminary work.
