Chapter 4 Chevy lay in her canopy bed fast asleep. The morning had brought forth the rays of the ember sun whose rays shined through the openings of the blinds, illuminatingher face and stinging her eyelids like bees. Her face twitched with irritation causing her to turn over and cover her face with a pillow. Then the alarm clock went off and she covered her head with a second pillow to block its blaring siren. She tried to go back to sleep, but the noisy clock wouldn’t allow it. She removed the pillows from her face and peeled her eyelids open.
