Emily pov
After Drew's exciting day, I finally got him down to sleep, but now I'm just lying on this bed. Over thinking. Everything.
I dont want to go to sleep, I dont want the night mares to come. I'm not sure I'll ever walk past a alleyway without a panic attack. I cant sleep without reliving the pain of the bite and change. I haven't really had time to process what happened in the alleyway or after. Since the attack, everything has been a blur.

I gasped and picked up a knife from the cupboard.

Great, now I'm going crazy I think. Of course i am. I put the knife down and started pacing.

Ryder pov
I walk into the pack house and everyone is just finishing dinner. I didn't see Emily. But i see kate.
"Kate, where is Emily and the kids? Are they not eating?"
Kate and Jason turned to each other and give each other a look. Jason nods at Kate.
" she is eating up in her room with the kids, she just needed a little bit of time. She was feeling overwhelmed and I thought eating down here with all of us would be too much right now".
What she actually means is "she didnt want to eat down here where im going to be". troy whimpers in my head.
"how is she really Kate, did i frighten her?"
I can tell she didn't want to answer, yeah I frightened her." You couldn't have known but the way you picked her up and smelt her. she paused and looked at Jason. He just nodded. The man that assaulted her and bit her held her the same way, she thought you were him"
What? No, I would never do that, troy is angry and starting to surface. How could I be so stupid? I could have ruined this before it even started. How am i going to fix this? I guess Jason senses my anger. He stands
" calm down man, you dodnt know . She won't hold it against you."
"She and Kate spoke, she knows what a mate is now and knows that you're her mate , that's why you reacted that way. She knows you aren't the one who bit her. She may be overwhelmed, but I think she will give you a chance. You just have to give her a little time".
i feel myself calming down. Time, I can do that. I already knew she would need time.
" thanks for talking to her, Kate" I said. Jason sits back down and Kate smiles at me."
I think you two will be great together. I really like her and her kids. They are amazing. Her son is so kind and May has the most beautiful laugh that I have ever heard."
I smile, I don't know how to explain what i feel when she says that, the closet i can come up with is, my heart feels happy. I honestly can not wait to have these three in my arms. And all it's going to take is a little time. I can do that.
After I had eaten and spoken to a few of the warriors for a while, I decided to head up to my room. As soon as i get up to my floor, I can smell her sweet scent. Before I even think about what I'm doing im knocking at her door.

The door opens slightly, i see the most captivating green eyes i have ever seen. I just stood there memorized by her well everything, her sent her eyes even her awkward small smile.
say something i***t Troy said
"Oh um hi, i thought i should actually introduce myself and apologise.
Im Ryder, the beta here. I'm so sorry about earlier... Had I known, I would have done better to restrain myself and troy. I know it's a lot to ask. I'm just hoping we can start fresh?".
I say this all very fast and I'm all but on my knees begging, which i would, if I thought it would help. I'm not above begging for my mate. I noticed she had slightly red eyes, like she had just been crying.
Emily pov
Clarrisa, settle down please.
I can't, open the door! Mate is here!!

I opened the door just slightly, just enough to see him. Oh my, I'm blushing, my cheeks feel hot, which is funny because that's what he is.. so hot! I hope he doesn't notice I've been crying. The last thing I need is for him to try to comfort me.
Clarissa is purring in my head, clearly she agrees about him being hot. I can see his muscles under his tight shirt. I could lick is 6 pack.

"Hi, I'm Emily, nice to meet you . Officially", I opened the door wider and reached my hand out to shake. When they touch i feel this warm spark run up my arm from my hand. I gasp.

"So" he began, "Kate told me that you guys talked about everything already but just know that I'm here if you need or want to talk. I can answer any questions, I know this is all so new to you, any questions about the pack or pack life or me,. I will always be honest with you."
He seems sweet.
"Thank you, I will take you up on that offer... at some point, but not tonight. It's been a long day, well, long week actually. I chuckle. Im exhusted."
"of course, of course. You should rest, I'll be around. Goodnight Emily". He gives me a dazzling smile.
"Goodnight" I said, he turned around to go to his room. I started to close the door but stopped.
" Ryder?"
He turns to me.
"I'm sorry for punching you" I said, then I quickly closed the door.
I stood with my back against the door and took a deep breath.
i told you he would love us.
Hmm I reply maybe.
Ryder pov
"I'm sorry for punching you" and then she just closed the door. I chuckle. Shes cute.
