Laura's POV:
I couldn't fathom how someone who looked so battered and bruised could summon such strength.
When Matthew pinned me beneath him, I was still worrying whether his wounds would start bleeding. But he seemed utterly unconcerned about that.
All he wanted was to kiss me.
His gaze burned into me, intense and unrelenting, making me feel completely vulnerable. I should have pushed him away.
But at that moment, all my strength simply evaporated.
His bare body pressed against mine, heavy and unyielding like a massive boulder, leaving me gasping for air.
"Matthew, we shouldn't..."
Before I could finish my objection, his lips were already on mine, eager and insistent.
