It had only been a short while since I last tended to Laura's wounds, and I never expected her to get injured again. This time, her injuries were even more severe.
I was livid that Laura had hidden her duel with Bella from me. When I sensed Laura was in danger and rushed over, my heart almost gave out when I saw her sprawled on the ground, barely holding on to life.
I couldn't stomach the thought of what might've happened if I hadn't shown up in time.
Even though Bella had been defeated, Brian was still hovering, his eyes locked on Laura with a hungry, predatory stare.
And I was certain—Brian's look wasn't one of hatred or admiration. No, it was raw, uncontrollable lust. He wanted her, and that was utterly unacceptable!
