MORRIS
"Baby I tried everything! I fed her, I changed her diaper, I tried putting her to sleep, but she just won't stop crying." Tameka said looking defeated.
"Lemme see her." She handed me Ahziah and she looked up at me with a pout then stop crying.
"She hates me." Bria sighed.
"Baby she doesn't hate you, she just isn't used to you yet." I said trying to comfort her. Being that she started going back to school a little over a month ago, she's not at home as much as she used to be. The girls and I are having a hard time adjusting to the new schedule. They miss having their mom tuck them in and I miss her presence period.
"Baby do you need anything? I have to go to school in a minute."
"I really wish you didn't." I said putting Ziah down. Taking care of three kids as a couple is difficult, so without her being here as much is stressful.
"I'm sorry honey. I'll only have to be in school for about a year then I'm out, but I got almost all of my credits so I'll be graduating with my bachelor's in a few months. All I want is your support." She said straddling my lap. I wrapped my arms around her waist.
"I know, but I miss you bae. With the cases piling up, and your night school I barely get to see you."
"That's true, but you know what they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder."
"Well, not this one." She huffed and got off my lap going into the bathroom. Moments later I heard the water running so I guess she decided to shower. I grabbed Ziah who was fast asleep and took her into her room, putting her in her crib. She woke up and I quickly put her back to sleep. I loosened my tie walking into the room to see Bria getting dressed.
I walked past her and into the bathroom to take a quick shower.
Ten minutes later I walked in the closet and grabbed some gym pants, a plain white tee, and some briefs. I walked out of the room and Bria was done getting dressed and was grabbing her keys.
"Baby why can't you do online school."
"Because I don't want to Mor, I like it. I'm meeting new people and I'm starting to actually have a life outside of you guys and work."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I said raising my voice, slightly offended.
"Babe not in that way. I just am always catering to you and the girls, that I forgot what a social life is." She said slightly amused.
"You have Rach them, don't act like I have you couped up in the damn house with work stacked to the ceiling." I walked over and sat on the bed, this conversation was making me angry.
"Morris are you really mad that I want to have some new friends? I don't give you no mouth when you go out with your boys."
"First calm down because my daughters are sleep and second go have a f*****g social life. Hell, sang kumbaya around the campfire and see if I give a damn." She looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"I swear you're unbelievable." Was the last thing she said before she exited the room.
