Chapter 1: Scheme in progress

The Cafeteria buzzed with the usual midday chaos—Laughing, fighting over things, chatting while eating, along with the noisy clatters of trays. Among the noisy crowd, a stressed and bored looking girl sat on an empty seat. Sienna Jay, 2nd year senior in class three, the normal and not so interesting girl who had never seemed to care about what people thought or say about her. The seat she sat on was the usual spot she had always stopped by during break. As she lazily ate her lunch, Zach came rushing towards her with an unusual energy. "I have something to tell you!" He excitingly said while pulling a chair for him to sit on. "If you're going to tell me about you stumbling on someone a while ago, or you failed on another test, just shut up" Jay rolled her eyes, ignoring his happy and energetic vibe. "You think I'd be happy if that did happen?" He sarcastically replied. Jay on the other hand just ignored him completely and continued eating her food. "I-it's about a girl" Zach confessed. Her eyes widened upon hearing his words like her inner self had woken up from a deep sleep thanks to Zach. "Hmm? What happened?" She curiously asked, her voice slightly high pitched. "..." He smiled and stayed silent for a moment. "Spill the tea dumbass!" She impatiently shouted, accidentally raising her voice that drew attention from the crowd. "Shut up" He whispered, clearly embarrassed. Jay glared at him with a very scary gaze though was also a bit embarrassed by herself. "Okay, okay chill." He teased before continuing his nonsense. "It's about a girl I like... " He smiled. "She's from our class" He was blushing the whole time, telling Jay all about the girl he liked. Unlike how Zach acts Infront of others—cold, mean, doesn't seem to care about anyone— he seemed to be very safe that he could spill every tea he knew when it comes to Jay, his best friend. "Aww, baby face has a crush now! You've really grown up" She said, teasing him— 'baby face' was a nickname she gaved him when they were young, the time when his mother showed her an interesting photo of him— she smiled enjoyingly seeing him blush but also annoyed. "Shut up 'Princess' " Zach fired back— Jay on the other hand is really masculine, cool, hot with a very diva like vibe which makes her hate the nickname given to her more. "Give and take" He smirked, clearly enjoying. "What the heck is give and take?" She giggled. "What's her name though?" She raised her eyebrows. "And why do you want to know?" He asked with a sassy look, acting dramatic. "Just say it dumbass!" She raised her voice, but this time, she did it on purpose. "You're really something" he said, amused by her attitude. "Emily" Zach's mood lightened up saying the name of his crush. "Hmm... Emily?..." Jay smirked looking like she had an evil plan in mind. "Don't do anything stupid, Princess" He looked at her eyes straightly before eating his food. "Whatever" She replied, rolling her eyes while poking her food lazily. "What's our next class today?" Jay asked. "You're really clueless" Zach smiled. "History" He answered. "What a great day to have classes in history" She sarcastically said, crossing her arms. Zach chuckled at her sudden reaction. As they both continued eating in the cafeteria while chatting about Zach's never ending yaps about his crush, the time had continued to run until the bell rang. "I really hate this bell, always getting on my nerves" Jay stood, pushing her chair. She cleaned the table she ate on before getting her bag. "You're very moody today Princess" He teased with a small grin on his face, clearly enjoying. "Said mister Loverboy" Jay dramatically rolled her eyes. They both walked in the hallway along with students that are also rushing to their classes. The place was full of annoyed voices and the noisy steps of students running. As they both walked nonchalantly, not caring whether they were late already or not, Jay looked at Zach with an excited expression. "I'm really into that crush of yours" She suddenly said. "I'm telling you, don't do anything stupid" He warned her with a serious tone. "Nah" Jay denied with a grin on her face. Zach sighed after hearing her words. "Well, I'm just going to sit beside her today. 'A girl exactly behind your chair', perfect! " She smiled then snapped her fingers. "Don't do that, I'll kill you" He warned her wearing a big frown on his face. "Hmm? Don't you want that? She'll notice you then. You might also have a chance on her" Jay reasoned. Zach rubbed his head and brushed his hair ruining the style of it. "You've got a point but... " He hesitated. They arrived at their classroom and good thing was that their history teacher was yet to arrive. Zach worriedly walked to his chair, doubting whether Jay will even do a good job. Jay excitedly walked behind him and upon seeing the girl behind Zach, she confidently told the guy beside her to swap seats. "Hi, You're Emily right?" She smiled. Emily was shocked by Jay suddenly greeting her but hurriedly greeted back. "Hi" She said bowing her head. Jay sat and began organizing her things. "You're really pretty" Jay complemented with a big smile on her face. "Thank you" Emily smiled back. Zach just sat in his chair silently while listening to the two. "I actually have a friend who has a crush on you" Jay suddenly said that shocked the hell out of Zach. He looked at Jay with a frown on his face, clearly asking what she's doing. Emily smiled before looking around the four corners of the classroom though couldn't spot anyone that might've liked her. "Who is he?" She curiously asked. "Baby face" Jay innocently replied before smirking at Zach. Zach just facepalmed himself, clearly embarrassed by her. "What?" Emily asked as she did not clearly hear her. "Baby face" Jay smiled again "What's... That?" Emily was curious and clueless, trying to know what Jay was saying though is really hard to understand. "His name" She proudly replied. "What the heck is she saying?" Zach thought. The history teacher had arrived and greeted everyone. Everyone greeted him back while Emily was still looking for the "baby face" that had a crush on her. "Claudine barelio?" The history teacher, Mr. Waltz started checking the attendance. "Rico Yu?"— "Zachary James Madrigal" "Here sir!" Zach replied. He then looked behind him where Jay was, then started telling her something which she clearly couldn't hear because he was just signing nonsense. "What?" Jay asked in a very low tone. "Is Sienna Jay Vaughn not here today?"— A student tapped on Jay's shoulder to tell her that the teacher was calling her. "Oh-- uhh, I'm here sir!" Jay answered nervously. "Please focus." Mr. Waltz said before continuing. "Emily Watson?" He asked. "Here sir!" Emily replied. Classes had started though Jay didn't really listen. She looked at Emily's direction and there she was, forgetting about the crush thing and is already focused on class. As the class continued, everyone listened quietly while taking down their notes. Two hours passed and the time has come, the noisy bell rang but instead of annoyed voices and frowns on everyone's faces, the room was filled with excited people, can't wait for their last subject PE as it was close to going home. While everyone was rushing to change their clothes, Jay noticed Zach cleaning his things and was also rushing though she was sure he never actually cared about PE as he was really stiff and lazy. "Where 'you going?" She asked slightly tilting her head while raising her eyebrows. "N-nothing..." He defensively denied. "Hmm? Something's fishy" She looked at Zach, straight in the eye. "Really. I'm not planning anything stupid" He looked away immediately. "What is it? You're hiding something" She walked closer to him, still raising her eyebrows. "O-okay, okay. You'll still find out sooner or later!" He stepped back while still avoiding eye contact with her. "I-I, I want to confess." He blushed, "To Emily" he smiled while his face was blushing. "Pfft! You'll what?" She jokingly said but then slowly realized he was serious. "You're really gonna do that?" She paused for a minute before continuing. "Just make sure you won't mess up dumbass" "I won't. Just don't do anything stupid while I'm gone. And... Don't follow me. You'll just tease me" He said before looking away with his bag slinging on his back. -To be continued-
