Chapter 19As Vidan had predicted, the journey did take a week.
The Company crossed the broad dry plain quite efficiently. Vidan’s path finders had indicated the need to carry lots of water, and there was an adequate stream at the meeting place, probably the reason that it was located where it was. Once everyone had assembled there the Scouts went out again, to look for the path west, as the mountains were finally coming into view beyond the foothills they were currently in. Gen went with them, hoping to use his wizardry to help, and either the Scouts’ skill or Gen’s ability had them on the track within two days. The Company wasn’t used to mountains, but was entirely accustomed to following the Scouts on unmarked trails. The path was easy enough in the foothills, both to find and to follow
