After what felt like hours the door cracked open and Jupiter stood in front of me. His eyes, nose and cheeks were bright red. He looked so vulnerable that i was taken aback.
"I didn't know, I wouldn't have gone out if i knew." I tried to explain feeling my heart shatter in pieces at how broken he looked.
He opened his arms and i dived into them, doing the one thing i had prayed i couldve all those times in elementary school. I held him as he cried, stroked his back and held him up.
We stood outside the apartment until he calmed down, his breathing becoming steady and his eyes drooping sleepily.
