Chapter 4 Max’s breath wheezed out of his chest like he’d just been sucker-punched. The girl looked so much like the old pictures of his mom from when she was a little girl that he’d found in the attic. The similarity was enough they could have passed for twins. How was that possible? And he couldn’t dislodge the feeling in his bones that he knew this woman. His head hurt worse just thinking about it.
