Becca woke up to a darkened room. She initially panicked at the unfamiliar surroundings, but then she remembered where she was. She reached for her phone on the bedside table and checked the time. She’d slept longer than she’d planned and was probably late for dinner. She got up, washed her face, and hurried down. Maggie looked up with a smile at her descent. They were seated around a large farmhouse dining table, with Max at the head.
