The colors were bright, the scent sweet and heavy in the air. I blinked at the sight. “What happened? I wasn’t hosting a festival. This was only for Elsa.” I shifted, brushing my brown hair back from my face with one hand. Marie bowed slightly, her eyes calm. “Your Highness, it was the King’s order to serve you this way.” My heart kicked at the mention of Rowan, but I forced my face to stay unreadable.
