A few hours before
Damian scoffed annoyingly while driving to Pearl's house to get her home. After the incident on the street before, Pearl rejected his idea of getting away from home. Pearl hadn't devised a successful escape plan. When it arrived, Pearl turned to Damian.
"I'm sorry, but thanks for taking me to the hospital. Now you're getting me home. I know you are a genuine friend, Damian." Pearl said in a gentle tone. She also gave a smiling, generous expression that Damian couldn't resist. He turned to Pearl and then nodded, even without the same smile.
"Bye." While Damian stared at her, Pearl exited his car and walked across her yard to open the front door. He let out a frustrating sigh at last.
