The Dragon Stone Relics

Dear Diary, you can only imagine what is going through my mind right now...

Sure my life here in the coven is privilegded but if someone finds out that I am of dragon blood who knows what will happen to me . What will happen to mother too? I cannot put her in danger like that. Will they throw me out of the coven and mother too? She is queen but I dont think she has dragon blood in her so whe would probably just be reviled as an unclean specimen? Or would they think that father r***d her? and that the King Mauri saved her....

OH I am so confused!!!

Who can I talk to beside mother? Will she beleive me that I am daughter to the dragon king or that Mauri is my true father? Would I have to change into dragon form for her to beleive me?

Is there ways to suppress one side of a hybrid? I must talk to professor after class to see if there are any sotries about that! There has to be look at all the weres out there, thank god its morning when i am writing this so I can see her today! Wish me luck Diary I hope there is something in the lore to help me with this problem!

Jewel rushes to her classes in the library to talk to professor Irina.

"Professor, can you talk about all the were lores out there for today?" Jewel looks at Irina with pleading eyes.

"Sure, there are many of the based on vampires and all the other supernautral creatures out there especially ways to suppress hybrid traits. Althought some are mostly legends of old. Hybrids are more rare now anyhow with the protocols set forth by the Kings Law." Irina continues her lesson " Many creatures that were hybrids where hunted down and killed to purge cross breeds that were dangerous and very violent in nature. The king exressly forbade mating with creatures not of the species. Especially to Dragonkind. Werevampire Dragons were extremely violent and felt above reproach due to thier powers. The King killed many of the hybrids in our kingdom to maintain peace and justice. After the purge of these creatures the king decided that he would make his kingdom as peaceful as he could and maintain the laws to keep everyone safe."

Jewel felt tears in her eyes as she hears this. It both frightened her and filled her with dread that her vampire father could possibly kill her if he found out. "What about the dragons though is there bad relations with the dragons?"

"Yes Jewel, dragons are scary and powerful creatures that can mate with any species if they want to. Depending on the match up the cross bred dragon would have the powers of any supernatural it was bred with to produce it. So vampire dragons are extremely dangerous, powerful and they tend to go blood crazy as a vampire, they will s*******r for the sheer fun of the kill and waste precious blood that we need to survive. They burn down villiages with no remorse. Several factions devised ways to clean the dragon from a vampire but the subject must be young for it to have effect. "

Jewel who was enraptured with this perked up to ask "What ways are those professor?"

Irina spoke on about how the witches and wizards and alchemists created magical relics and made potions to remove hybrid duality in affected vampire dragons. "Hecate the witch made some fantastic potions. Justin the wizard created a drawin stone to pull out the essence of a dragon, and many alchemist created stones and elixers to purge dragon essences out of the hybrids. however the dragons were furious with them and attacked the withces, wizards and alchemists until all known objects were destroyed. They did not want to be nuetralized by either the stones or potions and elixers that would turn them into humans."

" So none now exist?" Jewel was excited then dissapointed to hear about the loss of the magic items that could cure her of her problem. " Is anyone still around that can make the items?"

"I think Hecate and Justin are still around but many of the alchemists were killed by the dragons, and they have not been seen or heard from in over a century." Irina looked at Jewel intentntly " Why would you want to know where they are?"

"OH, I, um am fascinated, yes, just facinated by it. Ella and I were curious to know if there was anything existing today of them." Jewel told her white lie, but she really was curious to know that information.

"Ella was into the lore and she got me into it. We want to go exploring and see what we could find" Jewel hoped her professor beleived her.

"Yes Ella is always into all the lore she can get her hands on, she would make a great archaeologist if she decides to go to university to study it." Irina went on to talk more on each artifact, "The potions were less effective due to needing fresh ingredients and the dragons own blood had to be mixed into the potion/elixers. Hecate had taught all the alchemists on how toi create them. Many were killed trying to get the dragon's blood. The relics were easier to make and only required you to be near the dragon to pull its essence out. However most tof them were destroyed by the dragons to safeguard themselves. It is what led to the drgaon wars with the Vampire King, He was creating them himself and was able to cleanse dragons themselves and turn them human centuries ago, but they are mysteriouly dissappeared also. Justin taught Mauri how to create them but Mauri never kept them after the first purge and peace treaty with the dragons. I am sure he had to dispose of them to keep the peace with the dragons so he being an honorable vampire king did as the treaty dictated. Hence we are still at peace with them as long as they stay in their territory."

Her father had created the relics she needed! Jewel's mind was racing with what she needed to do next. She had to see if her father has a relic hiding somewhere just in case. Her prayers were answered if she could get her hands on a stone relic. Then she would be safe and could marry Kieran and not expose her secret. Although she was still not sure about marrying him she felt that was what her father wanted her to do. Too bad he was so much older than her she felt that they did not have anything in common except being royalty.

She knew that Keiran hated dragons ever since his sister was kidn*pped by one and never seen again. His hatred for dragons was well known and she was terrified if he found out about her secret. He would reject her or even possibly kill her. She had to be careful around him now that she had transformed into her dragon form. So the relics was her only way oout of this mess.

"The last known whereabouts of the stones and recipes for the potions and eleixers was in capital city museum i do not think they are there, since many things were taken out of the museum vaults a century ago. So this missing stone would make a great adventure to see if you can locate the stone or any information on the relics " Irina thought this would be a great adventure for both girls since they loved to investigate things and get into trouble. We can take a research trip to the musuem if you want to check it out?"

"I have some plans with mother and father so will have to be another time. i have to get ready for the ball coming up and mother is letting me help her with planning the event." Jewel was already planning another trip to the museum after she checks out her fathers treasure room.

"Thank you so much for todays Lesson Professor!" Jewel thanked her and headed off to find her father in his office.

She walked down the massive hallway to where her father usualy spent most of his day sitting as usual in his big leather chair.

"Father i had a most exciting class to day with Professor Irina! She said that there are relics that can drain the essence of a dragon out. is there really such items out in the world??"

"Jewel, yes many items that are now lost and forgotten for many years even centuries." Mauri looked at his daughter quizzically.

"Do we have one papa?" Jewel tried to sound as innocent as she could about it.

"I am not sure" Mauri started to say" I havent been down to my trove in a while, Would you like to see some of my treasures my little one"

Jewel smiled at her father with a big grin that warmed his heart " Oh yes papa" She even jumped up and down excitedly like when she was a little girl. She had never been down there and was very curious what exactly was down there. Papa was smiling back as he led her to his secret compartment and a bookcase opened when he pulled a black leather bound book down.

"Here we go on a new adventure!" Mauri felling the excitement buzzing off his daughter made him feel like a father again, she was growing up so fast that he hardly saw her excited about much latley.

Jewel was ready to burst at the seams that her plight was going to be solved in a matter of minutes. She beamed a bright smile at her dad as they walked down the stairs that led to his treasures. There was a light switch and he turned it on so that the light flooded and reflected off any precious metals in the room. There were statues, chests full of jewels and gold coins, artwork in huge frames hung on the walls, there was curio cabinets filled with figurines and relics galore. She scanned with her eyes to see if she saw any magic auras on any of the relics. One plain looking stone was slightly glowing an orange hue. She walked closer to it and it got brighter the closer she got to it. She almost reached it and was so close she could barely stand it.

" Honey, that rock never really glowed before?" I wonder why its glowing now? Mauri was feeling edgy about the reation of his daughter to the glowing rock that she was just about to touch " Sweetie, do not touch that stone it will drain your energy!"

"Is that what it does to vampires? Does it do anything to other species?" Jewel was breathless with excitement.

"Yes it drains energy from all life forms and can be deadly if you touch it for long periods of time. Its an energy rock. We used to use it on prisoners. Most people recover from it within an hour or two depending on how long they are exposed to it. Look here there is an old relic that was modeled after the Dragon stone. That one was dangerous it would steal your essence and could leave you without a soul."Mauri pulled her away from the glowing orage rock and the muted gray stone with a carving on top of a dragon in flight.

"Come see my gemstone collection now honey, we can make you a new necklace with what you pick out." He pulled her over to another chest with all types of jewels that glistened in the light.

As she headed over to her father she saw another relic this time with a dragon just etched lightly on it and when her father was not looking she picked it up and put it in her pocket.

"Yes father, I want to have an emerald necklace please" She picked up a bag filled with emeralds and they spilled out to the bag into the chest that was beneath it. She pulled the bag out and it was filled with emeralds.

"This will be lovely on you my dear" He pulls out plaatinum and gold chains.

"Oh papa its lovely! I like the gold chain "

"We will make some for you and your mother, you both have a fondness for emeralds!" he chuckles.

"Do you see a dragon stone relic papa?" Looking at her father intently Jewel asked him point blank.

"hmm, no sweetheart , I think that it is gone it had a faint etching of a dragon and I dont see it. It requires a amulet to trigger its magic. Ah There is the amulet hanging up. You can have it since the stone is lost for ever." he says "There is an incantation that you had to say to make it work, but i do not recall the words. Justin would know, if we could find him, but I think he is still an active target for the dragons though.".
