Alliance

~~JEM POV~~ Jem, he’s waiting for a reply… I looked over to the visiting Alpha, we had been talking about an alliance. Considering he was from one of the closer packs it would be prudent to be on better terms. Problem was my mind might have drifted to Jude. Thinking of how soft the plump, delicious softness of her lips… Thanks Wraith - happen to catch what he said? Really this was an inopportune time to have become a space case. I really wasn’t that guy. But it was difficult having found my mate, and not having been able to mark and mate her yet. He was asking about sending warriors to train with you. Cause you know - such a focused warrior. Fuck you. Thanks, I’ll pass. I’d rather make love to my mate. I nearly rolled my eyes, leaning back. “How many warriors are you wanting to send over?” Alpha Mactyre looked at me like he could tell I was distracted, honestly it didn’t take a brilliant mind to figure that out. I leaned forward, resting my elbows in the table. Trying to show I was more focused now. Rather - I was going to make the attempt. It was what he deserved as a fellow Alpha - and as of today - a friend to our pack. “I know your back has superior training for fighting. I was hoping perhaps two groups rotating out after a few months. Perhaps five at a time. We have a lot of good pack doctors. I’m nor sure if that is something you’re in need of. But I know a few would not mind changing packs for more work. A sort of payment if it’s something you see as acceptable.” We had a few doctors. But the fact of the matter was, we had more warriors than we had pack doctors. They were valuable. And the idea of getting one or two more was attractive. Though naturally I had to consider the fact that they might be spies for their ‘former’ alpha. We are talking about a truce and an alliance. But I had to consider any and all threats. Even from those I formed alliances with. I nodded, “that is an attractive offer. Depending on how many are interested, perhaps during the months your warriors come, you can send a small group, maybe two doctors and any family they may have potentially coming with them. Let them have a trail period here and see if the pack is a good fit with them? Depending on how many you’re offering?” Perhaps I would check with my younger warriors. Unmated ones that might enjoy the chance to look for their mates at another pack. “Two groups of two. And then see between you and them whom works best with your pack.” Nodding, “that sounds good. I have some younger unmated warriors. They aren’t fully trained yet, but a few exceptional potentials. Perhaps while you have your groups in more intense training here, some of those warriors can get the chance to see if they can find their mates with your pack, while aiding in training some of the others. If they find their mates, then they can choose where to go.” Finding our mates is important, our other halves make us stronger. Stable really. Alpha Mactyre smiled happily at the suggestion. He’d seemed like an easy to read, genuine sort of man. “It’s a great idea. Perhaps we could look into mixers of sorts between our packs each year. Allow unmated wolves to mingle and see if they can find their other halves. I don’t mind hosting it on my pack lands. Unless you rather alternate perhaps?” I considered it, nodding, “that wouldn’t be a bad idea.” Having a lot of another pack in your lands was a risk. He was willing to host on his. But perhaps we could alternate… “Perhaps alternating. But we can talk more about it. We have time.” “My Luna, Theresa - she’s better at organizing such things. I’ll have her join in the planning. If left to me it would end up some kind of disaster. At least that is what she’d claim.” He gave an easy laugh. I wondered if it was something Jude might be interested in helping with. My little mate was still rather unknown to me. I had learned some. Known her life was rough. And it broke my heart. I’d have to talk to her about it. “It would probably benefit from someone good at such a task. I can’t claim it is my strength… I’m not sure my Luna has ever planned an event. Karma and Rain would most likely be able to help.” Alpha Mactyre looked surprised, “I didn’t know you’d found your mate. Congratulations are in order.” “Thank you,” I couldn’t help the smile that spread over my lips, “she is truly perfect.” “I’m going to go ahead and guess it’s still rather recent. You seemed a little distracted,” he laughed, “I was such a space cadet when I first met Reese. She rejected me at first because I was a ‘f**k boy’ - god I was. I nearly went mental trying to win her over. It was six months before she even agreed to date me…” I couldn’t imagine going that long trying to win my mate. Or having to endure her rejection… Also knowing how my mate seemed to have it in her mind I should reject her. Her insecurities would come out. And I just wished she could truly see herself as I saw her. As everyone that had met her saw her. “It’s been a little difficult. Different reasons. But I have faith things are falling into place.” He nodded, “no matter the struggles, it’s always worth it for our mates, isn’t it?” “Indeed,” if it was possible to take all her pain, her sorrows, her suffering, to bear it all on my own. I would do it ten fold. I just wanted my mate to be happy. To know how precious and loved she was. And knowing that tonight I would once more get to have her by my side. Eager to feel her lips on mine, her body fitting perfectly against mine… You don’t make it easy for me to focus, Jem. You’re like a horny teen… I wish I could glare at my wolf. Shut up I fired back at Wraith. I extend my hand, “I look forward to what our alliance will bring. When would you like to send your first group of warriors?” He takes my hand, shaking it firmly before admitting, “as soon as you’re able.” “Next week then. I will have a place prepared. Just have any information sent over for how many including mates and family.” “Excellent. You’ll receive it later tonight.”
