Chapter 17

Tristan POV:

The moment he walked out on me and went to do his own search, I became curious.

He was so determined and prideful when he told me that he would find her. I knew my cousin wasn’t dumb.

I wondered what he could find that I couldn’t, so I had some of my men keep track of him in a nearby distance.

I watched his every move, and when I wasn’t….my men were. I continued to try and decipher what this all meant.

I saw the spark of shock in his eyes after reading the letter, I knew he knew something I didn’t and kept it from me. But the question was why?

No matter how many times I re-read that letter she left…I still couldn’t figure this all out. She was great at confusing me.

The moment he called me and asked for permission at my private clinic, I let him solely because I wanted to find out what he was up to.

My men informed me of his visit to Miss. Katherine, and I wondered why he went to go see her.

I tried to put the suspicious thoughts out of my mind, but couldn’t. So I paid her a little visit of my own.

At first, she didn’t say a word, and when she did…she became extremely hesitant. After a while, she blurted out the most shocking thing I could’ve heard.

My Alina was with her brother. It didn’t even take me a while to figure everything out.

Either this was planned, or he had been waiting for her…but either way, he had her.

She claimed not to have any information on where he was, nor did she say anything else other than he was waiting on her.

Best believe me when I say that I became overwhelmed with hot rage boiling through every pore in my body.

If it weren’t for her hard work at my clinic, she would be fired and then held accountable for all of this.

But I had better plans to relieve this anger….

I told my men to investigate on this matter, searching everywhere and any information on Louis Anderson, his alias names and fake last names he went by.

While that was all in order, I decided to go to work. I needed something to take my mind off all the stress it was under.

I was a business man after all, and I couldn’t leave my work waiting forever.

Just as I was in a meeting with Mr. Sheryari, who came from Germany a few days back to discuss some business matters, I got a phone call.

”Excuse me for a moment.“ I said and got up, fixing my suit and leaving the room.

I answered the phone call once I saw it was my assistant calling.

”Any new information, Peter?”, I asked him.

”Yes, Sir. It seems to be that Arthur has gone to New Hampshire. Manchester to be exact.” He informed me.

I was shocked. “Do you know why?”

”No, sir…we are still looking into it but that’s what I know for now.” Peter said.

I nodded. “Alright, then. Continue on.” I said and cut the call without another word.

Why the hell was he days away from New York? It‘s not like my cousin was the type to visit every single city in this world for her. He have had to known something.

Either Ms. Katherine lied or he just knew about her whereabouts before he even asked to take this one. He knew something more than me.

What was she hiding from me and why didn’t Arthur tell me about this? He knew how I felt and instead of telling me, he kept it to himself.

I was so enraged at the moment, all I wanted to do was go to Manchester and snatched them both back, giving them a piece of my mind.

But then my consciousness kicked in and threw some sense into my head.

Even though Arthur was an individual and knew his rights as a human, that no one can decided anything on his life, he was still very much aware of who I was and what I was capable of. No doubt, he feared me and respected me.

I gave him an estimated time which was ten days max. It had already been half the time and he would be back very soon.

So, I decided to wait for him to come back. He would bring her with him….and I’ll confront them then. If he doesn’t, then there will be heavy consequences.

Either way, I was gonna find out what all this secrecy was about and put an end to it. And not only that, I was gonna put an end to Louis.

If Alina thought that she could just play with my feeling and run off with her ex-lover, the same one who hurt her and changed her perspective on life completely….she was very wrong.

She had some serious explaining to do. All of them did.

With that, a small smirk formed as I walked back into the meeting….determined and positive that I‘ll get down to the bottom of all this.
