She had spent two days in the hospital. This was her first morning back. Avery took her seat across from him. A six-meter walnut table stretched between them like a barricade. She took a sip of her black coffee, adding neither sugar nor cream. The bitter bite was exactly what she needed right now. "How is your hand?" Dominic asked.
