The fall was long, cold through the snow blowing snow. They couldn’t see anything for a short time and even Cody had lost sight of Dan. He almost considered breaking off the chase when they broke through the clouds.
The town Roger had warned them about was not a town at all. It was a military base that had been taken over by Mark’s army. They couldn’t hear the order to fire but the second they broke through the clouds, the anti aircraft defense cannons began shooting at them, there were seven of them.
“This is feeling more and more like a bad idea, let’s skip this fight and go back to the ship while we can,” Blake said to Cody as they all broke formation to avoid the attack. Cody narrowed his eyes and had enough. Dan was down there somewhere. They had a chance to take him out forever
