Kent went downstairs for breakfast in his workout sweatpants and a vest. " Goodmorning mum, dad , Athena" he said kissing his mom on the cheek and ruffling Athena's hair. " I heard you got with Lena last night." Athena said looking straight at her father. " No I didn't. Women want me so much that they make up stories of me hooking up with them." Kent said.

" Come on you two.Not in front of us. " their mother said. "Sorry mum." they both said. " Honey, tell us how the dinner was last night. Alden looked up at his wife expressionlessly. " It was great." he said then went back to eating his meal." Kent, a word with you in the study." Alden said getting up. Kent got up and followed behind.

Alden walked into the study and Kent followed closing the door. "Any time from now I might die, either murdered or die of an illness. A few days ago I found out I have cancer and in it's last stage. I have little time left and I want you to take full responsibility of the company from now on. I have talked to Helga and she will walk you through everything you need to know, Denzel will guide you through also. " " Dad, I don't think I'm ready. I need a little more time " Kent said sliding into one of the seats." Look, son, I believe you're ready, and I trust you with everything .And the company is in safe hands. I trust you. Your mother and Denzel will be with you. But there is one thing. Taking up the company means taking my place at the table and being the new leader of the syndicate.And not everyone at the high table is to be trusted. But no matter what, if anyone is trying to hurt you trust only Angus." Kent looked at his father his eyes full of worry.

" Why didn't you tell us sooner dad? Why didn't you tell us when you found out you were sick? Does Mom know?" Kent asked.

" Nobody else knows. It's just you. I told you as the first because you can handle this better than anyone else. And you will hold the family together." Alden said. Kent hugged his father in a warm embrace as he let a stray tear slide down his cheek. " I'll do the best I can to make you proud ."Kent said embracing his father.

" Is everything okay between you two?" Athena asked when the two men sat back down at the dining table. "Yeah, everything is cool " Kent replied looking across at his father who nodded and gave a weak smile."Kent and I will be gone for a little business trip next week. We will be gone for a month."Alden said Kent looked at his father shocked." Dad." Kent said. " You two have a great boys trip." Athena said rolling her eyes.
