BLOOD BOUND

CHAPTER 5

Sage walked back into the cottage with blood all over her trench coat and blood seeping through her blouse. She opened the door to the cabin and found Kent seated looking at her,anger written all over his face.

" You f*****g drugged me. For how long were you expecting I'd be out. A while night? Two days?" Kent asked angrily

Sage staggered past him drops of blood trailing her. Kent held her and turned her around. He stopped when he saw Sage covered in blood and bleeding.

"What happened to you?" he asked taking off her coat for her. He ripped the blouse from where it was stained with blood to be met by a deep cut. "Go back to the living room ." Sage said weakly. She supported herself with the wall and took off the rest of her blouse and she had a gunshot wound on her shoulder. "Who did this to you?" Kent asked with concern and anger in his voice. Sage pushed him away and walked to the kitchen. She collapsed on the kitchen floor losing consciousness.

Sage opened her eyes and she met with Kent staring at her, a doctor wrapping up her shoulder wound.Kent took the doctor away from the room and Sage sat up clutching her shoulder and side. She heard footsteps coming back into the room and Kent appeared at the doorway.

"Thanks. I'll be taking you back to your father today." Sage said getting up . Kent stared at her body, which was half bandaged and some old scars were visible." You're making me uncomfortable when you stare at me like that." Sage said reaching for a t-shirt." Before you ask, I was in the military before. Deployment at Afghanistan. Got this scars while rescuing some of my comrades." Sage said slipping into the t-shirt.

" I talked to my father, and he said I can stay here and make sure you're safe. he'll send some men here. "Kent said walking towards Sage." Tell your dad to take your men off my property. And you should leave too. " Sage said walking to the living room. She took Kent's car keys and handed them back to him. " You're safe for now." She said opening the door, only to find Lucas standing at the doorway.

Kent looked at Lucas as he walked out and got into his care, ignited it and drove off.

"I knew I'd find you here. So now you're shagging the target's son? " Lucas asked leaning on the doorframe . " We're not f*****g. I just saved him from being someone else's target. I want him to witness his father's death. "Sage said.

" So you're now playing savior,huh? Lucas asked moving closer to Sage. Sage took a step back until she was against the wall. Lucas put one hand on the wall and leaned in." Sorry I didn't come for your fight. So I came by to make it up to you." he said in a low voice.He leaned in and kisses Sage gently pulling her closer. Sage pulled away from him.

"what?" Lucas asked pulling her back. " It doesn't feel right. We shouldn't be doing this." Sage said pulling away. " Are you seeing someone else? Or is it that Thorne boy?" Lucas asked calmly. " Its not him. We shouldn't be doing this." Sage said. Lucas took a step back and stared down at Sage. " Fine. I just wanted to make you feel better." Lucas said. " Then you would've come to my rescue last night when I was battling some syndicate members. " Sage said walking away from him. She held the door open for him and gestured him to leave. Lucas walked out and looked back at Sage while standing at the steps. " I know we both want it. But nurse your wounds first. I'll come see you tomorrow." He said and walked over to his car. Sage slammed the door and sat on the floor.

Kent got out of the car and walked into the hotel. He went to the elevator and pressed the penthouse button. The elevator doors opened and he walked into the penthouse." I wasn't expecting you back this soon." Alden said going through some paperwork. " She kicked me out. And told me that she doesn't need any of our men on her property." Kent said grabbing a whiskey. He looked at it, put it back and took a bottle of water instead.

" Are you sure she is safe?" Alden asked. " She will be safe. She definitely has a gun since she lives in the middle of the woods." Kent said . " She saved your life last night. You should go keep an eye on her.Amd probably the people that hurt her are the same ones that tried to kill you." Alden said not raising his eyes. " Yeah, I'll go check up on her tonight." Kent said falling into the couch nearby. " I'll leave you here. I have to go back home and attend to some stuff. Denzel will be a call away." Alden said. " I don't need Denzel's help. I have to show you I can run this." Kent said drinking from his bottle.

Later that night, Kent pulled over outside the cabin and walked up the steps to the door. He raised his hand to knock but stopped and started going down the steps when the door opened." You do know no cars come out hear so I heard you pull over." Sage said drunkly. " Are you drunk, Sage?" Kent asked. " Stop with the questions and come on in." Sage said holding the door open for him. He walked in and Sage locked the door.

" I just came to see how you're doing but you look fine to me so I'm going to be on my way." Kent said standing in the middle of the room. " At least have a drink or two." Sage said handing over a bottle to him. " I can't drink and drive, you know that." Kent said pushing the bottle away from him. " Who said you're going home? Besides, lots of people out there want you dead. There is a bounty on your head pretty boy." she said smiling flirtingly.

Kent shrugged his shoulders and took the bottle. He raised it and took a huge gulp from it. A while later Kent and Sage were both drunk and laughing when suddenly Kent stopped and looked into Sage's eyes. " Did I ever tell you what beautiful pair of eyes you have, and beautiful lips and an appealing presence and..." Kent was cut short by Sage kissing him. Sage pulled away and quickly apologized.

" Oh s**t,I'm sorry. I'm just a little too tipsy. f**k ,what am I doing." Sage said scooting farther from Kent. Kent took her hand and pulled closer . " I like what you're doing. And I want you to keep doing it. " Kent said then pulled Sage in and they kisses again. Sage climbed on top of Kent and sat on him , lips still on his. Kent put his hands on Sage's waist as she slowly grinded on him.

" God, Sage. Do you know how much I want you right now?" Kent whispered in her ear. Sage smiled and held Kent's face in her hands. "I know, but you won't." She said getting off of him. Kent let out a sigh of disappointment and looked at Sage. " You're not going to leave me like that,are you? " he asked a smirk forming on his face. " That was a drunk decision. And I don't like making such decisions while drunk.You can take the bedroom I'll sleep on the couch. " Kent stood up disappointed and looked at Sage. " You're such a tease.But I'll get you someday." He said heading into the bedroom
