The air shimmered with unseen energy, carrying the faint echoes of a world long forgotten. In the heart of Aetheria, where floating islands drifted above endless seas of mist, a girl named Sylwen listened to the wind. She had always heard things others could not. Soft voices in the rustling leaves, distant melodies carried by the breeze. But tonight was different. Tonight, the echoes spoke her name. "Sylwen... the hour has come." She shivered, standing at the edge of the Skycliff, where the land fell away into the abyss. Below, the world stretched out in layers—floating citadels gleaming in the dusk, airships gliding between islands, and beneath it all, the Veil, a swirling storm of magic said to hold the secrets of the ancients. "You hear it too, don't you?" Sylwen turned sharply. Behind her stood Auren, his golden eyes reflecting the distant lightning in the Veil. He had always believed her, even when the village elders dismissed her as a dreamer. "I do," she whispered. "And it's calling me." Auren exhaled, running a hand through his unruly auburn hair. "Then I suppose we're leaving." Sylwen’s heart pounded. The echoes had always been fragments, half-formed words lost to time. But tonight, they spoke with purpose. And deep down, she knew—they were guiding her to something ancient, something that could change the fate of Aetheria forever. With one last glance at the home she might never see again, she stepped forward. The journey had begun. ---
