I woke up this morning with this feeling like it was going to be a perpetual day. I hardly got any sleep. My mind was running circles all night. Something was telling me I needed to figure this out. I got out of bed with that on my mind. I need to talk to Trey about this. He can help me see what I’m missing.
I walked to the bathroom to wake myself up. I turned on the shower, adjusting the temperature. I walked over to the skin to brush my teeth before stripping my pajamas off and putting them in the laundry basket. I’m a clean guy. I hate living in a mess. My mother taught us to clean up after ourselves, always saying no one's cleaning up after us.
I stepped into the shower, letting the hot water hit my skin. I grabbed my body wash, scrubbed my body clean. After washing my hair, I wash my body to get rid of the soap. After turning off the water, I stepped out of the shower. My towel is wrapped around my waist as I leave. I grabbed another towel to dry my hair. I heard my phone ringing on my bedside table as soon as I stepped out of the bathroom. I walked over to my phone to see who was calling.
Fuck, what I wanted to deal with when I've had very little sleep. I was debating on whether to answer or let it go to voicemail. I knew better, so I chose the latter. “Good morning, to what do I this honor?” I asked sarcastically, walking to my closet to get dressed. I have no idea, but I like to get under his skin, but I do. Does he scare me? Yes, he does. Do I still do it? Yes. “You have a meeting on Monday with Sterling Fashion House.” He added before I could say anything else. How in the hell did he pull that off?
“How did you pull that off, dad?” I stuttered, asking him. I don’t stutter ever, but this man caught me so off guard with that statement. My father, Michael Reynolds, can be a stubborn but surprising man. “Tell me, dad, why do you want this meeting?” However, I didn't receive an answer. I heard a dial tone. I pulled the phone away from my ear, looking at it. I need to figure out why he wants this meeting badly. That asshole hung up on me.
I grab a pair of boxers from the dresser and slip into them. I reached for the charcoal grey pants and a crisp white button-up shirt. I put them on and grabbed a pair of black dress shoes, and walked back to the bathroom to finish getting dressed. I grabbed some gel, put a little on my fingers, and ran them through my hair to mess it up a little. I put on my deodorant and spritzed some Polo Red cologne. I walked out of the bathroom, walked over to my closet, and grabbed my Rolex watch.
I put on my watch, walked out of the closet, over to the bed, grabbed my phone, and stuck it in my pocket. After leaving the bedroom, I headed to the kitchen. As soon as I reached the counter, I glanced at my watch. There was no time to make breakfast, so I grabbed my keys, wallet, and briefcase, walked out the door, and made my way to my vehicle.
I got to my car and put my stuff in the back seat as soon as I unlocked the car door. I looked at my watch again. “I have a bit of time before I can stop at Little Dave’s before work,” I thought. That thought was a great idea, so I pushed the start button on my car, listening to the purr of my Ferrari. I drove around my driveway and onto the road, heading for the cafe.
The drive to the cafe wasn’t that long, about 15 minutes from my house without traffic. I pulled into the vacant parking spot and shut off the engine. I got out of my car and shut the door, hitting the lock button. I walked over to the door and went to pull it open when someone was pushing the door. A beautiful lady walked out of the cafe doors, not paying attention, and right into me. She spilled the entire contents of her coffee all over my shirt.
She balanced herself so she wouldn’t hit the ground. I was trying not to show how badly that s**t burned, so I gritted my teeth, looked up at the sky, and took a few deep breaths. “I am so sorry,” I heard her say. I looked down to see her reaching into her bag for something. I’m not sure what she’s getting. She pulled out a few napkins and took her hands closer to my chest.
I grabbed her wrist before she could get the napkins onto my chest. Her skin is so f*****g soft. I ran my eyes up and down and my body. Damn, this woman is gorgeous. She had sun-kissed skin with beautiful long brown hair. She had her hair pulled up, showing off her slender neck. I let go of her wrist when I felt her pulling away. I snapped my eyes at her face. I couldn’t help but run my eyes over every inch of her face.
She had big brown eyes that reminded me of melted chocolate; she had full lips and an oval-shaped face. My god, she’s gorgeous. I could feel her doing the same thing I was doing, checking her out. “I am so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going. Please let me make it up to you and buy you breakfast.” I heard her say, but I wasn’t paying any attention. I was too busy staring at her like some creep.
I came out of my creepy staring when my phone rang. I pulled my phone out of my pocket; I looked at the caller id. I stepped away to answer the call. “What is it, Jessica?” I said, putting the phone to my ear. “Sir, your dad is here in your office waiting for you,” she said. f**k, what is he doing there? “I’m on my way,” I said, turning back around to the beautiful woman. When I turned around, she wasn’t there. I hung up the phone when I saw a black Lamborghini pulling away like someone stole something.
I didn’t have time to grab my breakfast like I wanted to. I sent Jessica a text asking her to have a spare shirt and breakfast waiting for me. Twenty minutes later, I arrived at the office and pulled into the valet. I stepped out of my car. I tossed the valet the keys and walked into the building. I walked over to the elevator and pushed the button, waiting for it to arrive. A few minutes later, the elevator doors opened, allowing everyone to step out. I waited until the last person was off the elevator before I walked in. I pushed the button to my floor and rode the elevator up.
When the elevator arrived at my floor, the doors opened, and I stepped out. I could see Jessica sitting at her desk, typing away on her phone. She looked up when she heard the elevator doors close. I need to fire this b***h. She does nothing but tries to seduce me all day. Like right now, she has on a tight shirt with a few buttons open, so her breasts are popping out. A black skirt so short it stopped under her butt. How do I know this? You might be asking because as soon as she saw me, she stood up, adjusted her shirt to show off more, and walked over to me. She’s not a bad-looking woman, but she tries way too hard.
I know I have already f****d her, but she was too easy of a lay, and I’m a man; I have needs. I took the shirt she handed me and the coffee from her. “Good morning, father. To who do I owe this honor?” I said sarcastically as soon as I walked into my office.
“I’m checking on things. I have to make sure things are running to my standards still,” my dad said, rummaging through the files on my desk. I ignored his comment and changed my now coffee-stained shirt. My dad and I have never seen eye to eye. He runs things like he has all the power in the world. He didn’t want me to take over the business. He wanted my older brother, Jerry.
Jerry didn’t want the business. He wanted to travel the world with his wife before settling down and starting a family. Jerry and his wife Cheryl have been together since they were in college. I have always looked up to Jerry. He never took dad’s s**t, never let dad treat him like he was worthless, and always stood up for himself and his family.
I hated disappointing my parents. Now that Jerry isn’t around, I’m getting all the s**t from dad. When Jerry left for college, dad turned his anger towards me. He never abused me physically, but mentally he f****d my mind up. Dad would say, how I will never be like him. I’d never be the man I need to be. I’ll never amount to anything. I don’t want to be like him. I want to be better; I want to do better.
“Dad, can I ask you a question?” I started rounding my desk and sat down in my chair as he took the seat in front of the desk. He said nothing, so I continued, “What do you want with the meeting?” I questioned him, knowing I had to tread carefully.
“Why wouldn’t I want a meeting with the top business person in the world?” He replied. He stared at me like I asked the dumbest question in the world. “I’m serious, dad. What is so important that you had to have a meeting with them?” I kept asking him, knowing I wouldn’t get the answers I needed from him.
There was a knock at the door. “Come in!” I shouted. Jessica walked in with a file in her hands. “Good morning Mr. Reynolds,” she said, walking to my desk. I gave her a nod and grabbed the file Jessica was holding out for me.
“Good morning Mr. Reynolds,” she smiled, turning around to face my dad. “Good Morning Ms. Johnson. I hope Joshua is treating you well.” He said, smiling at her. “Oh, yes, sir, Mr. Reynolds. He treats me very well.” She said with a twinkle in her eyes as she looked at me. She turned back to dad and batted her eyelashes at him.
My parents love Jessica and want me to marry her, but I can’t. I want to choose my wife, someone who my parents have no control over. Jessica is a beautiful woman, and anyone would be lucky to have her, but sometimes she scares me. She likes to come into my office and sit at my desk. I caught her playing with herself on my desk with her foot propped up on the chair. Her other foot propped on the desk, showing anyone that walked through the door everything.
“Ms. Johnson, would you mind please getting us some coffee. Thank you.” Dad politely asked. I have never heard him be polite to anyone but my mother. He hired Jessica himself when he retired, right before I took over the position. Once Jessica left the office, I turned my attention back to dad. I stared at him, trying to study his every move, but I couldn’t read him. His face lacked any emotions it held a few moments ago when Jessica was in the office.
